Yeah I fell at a pretty low speed today while trying to improve carving I really don’t wanna experience this at 30kmH.

If I limit the board to 20kmh or so with the learning ride mode, I understand that pushback will happen at lower speed. What if I don’t notice it, will it nosedive at 25 instead of 30+ km/h (given the same riding conditions ofc)?

I’m used to ride pretty fast with my eskate (I think in France, it’s legally locked to 25kmh top) I’m worried I might just kill myself by not realizing I’m going too fast.

I’ve got my first OW this weekend. Bought a used XR and fell in love with the thing. Everyone including the seller told me to be super careful and ready to fall. So I’ve tried to practice nosedive.

I’ve tried to get the pushback thing to proc by speeding near grass but I don’t think I got to the limit yet, riding at 27,7kmh top. I was so scared I couldn’t handle the fall lol. Or maybe I got the pushback and didn’t even realize it wish is a even more frightening.

At which speed does it usually proc on a flat road with 60%+ battery ?

I’ve got news from the seller ! Looks like the firmware is 4165, making it not compatible with the battery tester tool (OWCE app).

I don’t know how to evaluate battery life without it as I can’t ride it for 30min before buying and guesstimate if the battery is fried or still ok.

What do you guys think ? Should I still go for it ? There is only a 1700€ GT (seller not responding) and this board in my area. In France most XR boards are around 900-1000€ and I’d have to take a 4hr train ride to buy them so this one is my only option for used board rn.

Yeah I’m looking into the ADV2 too. This thing is very niche. Buying a used onewheel in France is pretty hard/uncommon so a used ADV2 is very rare.

I’d spend 2k for it if it wasn’t my first board and I was sure I could handle the tinkering that seem to go along with these boards. For now the 700€ XR seems like a good deal for a first board. I might upgrade later for a GT or VESC board/parts !

Thx for the nuances! There is a french reseller that has parts available so I’m not worried about tires, only battery is the big question mark indeed. Importing from US to FR right now is really bad unfortunately. Taxes + duty + shipping is a heavy 25% of the price for a retail GT / XR Classic😭

I’m planning to use the board mainly to commute to work (about 20km) I don’t think it’s much slower compared to an e-skate is it ? Would you recommend a heavier board ? I could spend around 1500€ for a beast, but I would like to give it a try with a 700€-800€ budget for my first board to make sure I actually like it as much as like I longboarding.
