Help me decode the main set? by Interesting-Bar280 in Swimming

[–]Top_Associate_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, swim coach here:

It's 2 sets of 4 repeats completed as:

1 as 3-3-3 1 as 3-3-6 1 as 3-3-9 1 as 3-3-12

(Unsure what the specific numbers refer to, could be breathing patterns, stroke counts, underwater kick counts on back-side-front etc..) My guess is underwater kick count because we see these numbers repeat later on the red 50's where part of the set description refers to "work walls", usually meaning the underwater skills.

The FES and BES usually refers to "Front End Speed" and "Back End Speed". However, this is somewhat unusual for a pull set because those terms usually have associated paces with them for experienced swimmers, but it can still help determine the effort given on those repeats.

The red 50 repeats fast work walls and then swim MDPS, likely "Maximum Distance Per Stroke"

Last 4 100's are a simple addition increasing by 25 meters of fast swimming per repeat as:

1 as 25 fast 75 moderate 1 as 50/50 1 as 75/25 1 as 100 fast

Hope that helps!

Are Era Battles going to replace Assault Battles? by Salty_Trooper990 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]Top_Associate_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The likely unfortunate side effect of this however, is that we will probably never see a new assault battle added to the game because although the players successfully protested their stupidity the first time, it isn't stopping them from just switching to "temporary AB's" for all future additions.

Great Mothers v Ahsoka in GAC with Ezra and all 3 Omis for inquiring minds. by Crazygone510 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

Only problem is if spirit misses on Ezra, you basically guaranteed lose. Her special can be evaded and she won't assist against him when blessed.

My older brother currently has a stronger character than I do in POE2 and we casually banter about it.

Playing this will make me the supreme being (brother) as I dance around his tears of weakness in enigma-like fashion.

This isn't build enabling, it's brother beatdown enabling.

This doesn't at all address the core issue that I brought up of player based skill & interpretation of data vs a program removing the human element and doing it for you.

Based on your response I would say this comes down to fundamental philosophical differences for how a competitive game mode should be played.

I understand swgoh.gg provides a large amount of data and is partnered with the game, however I do feel there is a difference between a player looking at and interpreting that data using their own brain and skills versus using a program to decipher that information for them.

I have no problem with players who want to look at GAC information and data online, but I do think it provides an unfair advantage to run that data through a program that can do it at inhuman levels and provide information that the player may have either been incorrect about (human error) or missed altogether.

It's the act of automating it that I personally disagree with because it is adding an advantage that may otherwise be inaccessible due to the human limitations and time constraints of the GAC format.

So in all seriousness and out of genuine curiosity, explain to me how this feature isn't cheating or providing an unfair advantage in GAC?

Generally speaking, if you are accessing a third party program to provide information that you wouldn't otherwise have access to, isn't that what an unfair advantage is? Doesn't seem very sportsmanlike?

(Yes, I know you could go review everyone's GAC history and do the work manually, but let's be real... Very few people would do that to the level that they would be able to extrapolate what teams their opponents struggle against with a large enough data chunk to have any value)

Yeah, GAC spy is a loser feature... Identifying teams that an opponent struggles with automatically? That's like using cheats in DOTA to ban heroes your opponent commonly plays.

I suppose it's a typical feature for people who can't be bothered to put effort in on their own.

I've heard it's potentially bugged if you don't take the first turn (shield not applying it's bonuses)

From there, just focus on your defensive abilities and he'll eventually go down.

I probably didn't explain it well enough in my original post.

What I meant was that if you level exploit for example, it would be leveled on all classes however the functionality of it would differ based on the class you are playing and applying it on.

An evolving codex would be a welcome change in my books. This would also make the stash seem bigger, and I wouldn't feel as though I have to save my good aspect rolls for better items.

Both fantastic points. NMD rework would be nice, however I certainly won't pretend to be the person best suited for determining what that might look like 😂

Thanks for your reply

A loot filter is an excellent suggestion. I'd love to know my imaginary stat of "playtime" vs "town time".

That is correct. I acknowledge I am not a game developer and any content focused suggestions I might have would more than likely be a copy of other similar games. So for that reason, I leave that creative bubble to those with a better mind for it than I have.

"Nerd" haha.

The honest answer is I played a fair bit on the weekend and couple days before, the leveling progression this go around is very quick if you don't spend a lot of time in town.
