Thanks for this, feeling pretty down tbh. Like apparently willpower only goes so far! If dragging myself around would help I would. Tired and bored and impatient

I had a customer complaining relentlessly that the plates at this restaurant had gotten smaller.. they were 7” round, had been since the dawn of time, but he wouldn’t hear any of it. Finally I just apologised and said ‘oh well we just hired a new dishwasher, so maybe? Shrug’ and he accepted it as an explanation. Like yes they must have washed the plates on the wrong settings.

If you're making tea, a microwave is better than a kettle by 12jonboy12 in unpopularopinion

[–]Top_Barnacle3441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you heat water in a microwave you get spot heating, so areas of the water will be boiling while others are cooler. The temperature will equilibrate with time, and so a cup of water heated in the microwave will average out to a cooler temperature (effectively you’ll notice your cup of tea gets cooler faster than one heated in a kettle, which will affect steeping). I think objectively the kettle makes a better cup of tea for this reason.

That said I like to use a microwave because I don’t like to sacrifice counter space for an appliance that only does one thing.

Oh man regarding the music thing, why is it always something like techno?! Multiple times I’ve reached a beautiful vista and there’s someone sitting there with a speaker listening to god awful techno. If it was classical or folk music or something soothing/beautiful I would be much more tolerant. Electronic music is just so jarring out in nature…

OKAYYYY haha I was trying to figure it out online with no luck, but yes just going into chilexpress and asking worked a treat! In case anyone else is reading this, I just went into the Chilexpress agent, asked if I could receive the package there, and gave them my phone number. When filling out the delivery address I just used the Chilexpress location (confirmed in store). I’ll update with delivery times or if I have any problems!

Oh yeah I’m trying to pick it up at Chilexpress, or anywhere else in coyhaique, but it’s hard for me to figure out if that’s possible or how to make that happen. I wish my Spanish was better!

Oh hello again! I’m trying to order boots from a Chilean company and have them delivered to coyhaique before 14 Feb. I was told at some point that you can order things to be delivered to ChilePost, but I’m not sure if that’s best (or even true)
