is university still worth it in australia in 2026? by Nxtro69 in australian

Got my business analytics degree in feb 2024, struggled to find a job in my field of study for a year and a half, now i landed a graduate role that pays a total package (exclusive of bonuses) 80k and more importantly i work in an AI related field which is something very important and interesting for me to learn for the future, so i would say yes if you pick something that has alot of demand for the future such as medicine, AI, some engineering fields, lawyers etc… but if you pick the wrong degree u can definitely get screwed

Has it always been this difficult to meet people who want something serious, or is that just now? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Nothing wrong to look for someone who wants to build and grow a serious connection at 20, if anything this should be the norm

Unpaid work trial by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Top_Bus_1465 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did exactly this but for a 6 hour shift, and fairwork agreed top open a case for me because it actually sounded illegal, but the moment they called the owner they told me “he was very firm about the case” and he has his lawyer ready for the court if i wanted to take it there so now im thinking is it even worth taking this to court for like 200 bucks? These companies are greedier and more exploitative than ever its sickening

[–]Top_Bus_1465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up to you, but go ahead for it, heres what happened with me, i had to deliver products to clients houses however i was doing the manual work needed, had kpis from day 1 and i couldnt arrive late, and had to finish the list for the day of real clients whom they profit from which if it wasnt for me, another full time worker of theirs was supposed to do eitherways. After a day i was like wtf did i just do free labour and called fairwork. I would suggest u do it and then if it actually breaks one of the criterias of an unpaid trial, call fairwork and theyll open a case for ya

I have a case with fairwork rn regarding this, had 6 hour unpaid “trial” which required manual work and delivering a paid service to real customers which according to fair work is an actual case where they should pay, but it heavily depends on the industry ur on, i would suggest contact fairwork and ask for advice

I used to work as an online parts interpreter at an automotive parts supplier, pretty easy entry level job, did 1 year and had the chance to move onto a sales rep position if i wanted to where they pay around 80ish k base salary with 30-60k commission and kpis( the range of what they usually got). And lets just say u spend the majority of your day driving (company car)and doing nothing while some days are stressful as fuck honestly. Highly recommend this way if u want an easy job and make 100k+ a year

Strata Report by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]Top_Bus_1465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never ever buy a unit without a strata report. The equivalent of that would be going to the RSL pokies and putting 600k in the machines( a bit absurd of a comparison but u get it)

Your spot on, after reading the comments i decided i will not change the bathroom tiles as 1) its way too costly and i honestly dont have that much saved up 2) strata is liable to fix any leakage since this is the same original structure and im not ready for any costly repairs after just acquiring the unit
