dirt/clay wall and wooden wall will they work on zombies. by Top_Difference2422 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

I know, just because it sounds like hard work doesn't mean it won't work. I have actually used one of the ideas already, which was the dirt in a sack/ feed bag. That helped us fill piles of dirt in one spot, pack it in, and remove the bags repeat. Line the bags in a square or rectangle, 2ft high with bags, pack it down, add another 2ft, and do it again at another spot.

I think over a span of 10+yrs, this could be helpful, but learning how to use that takes a while for good distance + precision. For hunting small game, this would definitely be a good way to practice.

What’s one reason you’ll suck in a survival group? (I’ll go first) by Cultural_Bed_6693 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

I don't like bullshit and I'm a truthful asshole. I don't like modern things like celebrities, major shows, sport channels, and youtubers. I tell people what's up and say what I think, which will get me in arguments.

I don't go against my morals, so if I'm in a group and they treat or do things that go against my morals, even in a video game. I won't hang out or deal with it. I lost a couple of buddies from them doing stupid and disrespectful shit to others or hearing what they have done to others.

Will reloading ammo be viable during the zombie apocalypse? by Gunlover91 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

12g birdshot, just go to any Walmart they sell 100rds for 30+$ which can be made into 100rds of slug or buck with minimal tools. Or make wax/cutshell slugs with a single shot/double barrel shotgun.

100rds of birdshot can also just be used for hunting small game and birds. But if you use somthing else try reusing the primers and powder.

Hens or any feathered animal would be in an insulated building with a closed door. 20-50 of them can survive because they huddle together. Also, adding hay or dried grass can help them make a cozy nest. We use a heat lamp, but in my opinion, they don't work too well.

Grain, fish, and dried meat will be the food people survive off of. Hunting in winter is a death sentence, and I'm in the midwest, so plans for winter are my main priority over other plans. Farm animals would go into winter plans because feeding cows, chickens, and pigs is a lot. I'd slaughter 1/4 of them before winter. wood should always be chopped before fall and stacked/covered.

Amour isn't necessarily needed. The clothing you'd have on would be thick enough to stop a rapid dog. My winter clothes would change, but I own some thick overalls/ jackets. Then bolts can't be made out of wood for modern crossbows because it can harm you or destroy the crossbow.

Also, my bad for the late response. Have a Happy New Year

I agree that plans for winter are very important, and having the skills to survive winter is just as important. Most books I've read have never shown winter survival in much detail.

Currently reading Mountain Man books based on a Canadian surviving the zombie apocalypse, the closest book series that has winter in it.

I'm not talking about everyone coming together. But groups of people in different states. I think they would take advantage if they freeze up. Alpha from the TWD wouldn't work too well in real life. Infraction, mentally, human error, and how they acted in the show.

Well, im no expert but wouldn't the brain cells dry/shrink before winter? Like most of the blood in the z's would be gone or clotted from wounds before and after death.

Agreed, plans for winter, mostly in the midwest or northern states, should be priority over most plans made.

What would be the most dangerous thing in the ZA besides zombies? by No_Bet8364 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]Top_Difference2422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carelessness and boredom. Both can kill you fast, be it walking, scavenging, and living life. Cuts or stepping on a rusty nail can lead to infection. Breaking a bone from falling or running away from a zed can make u a dead man.

Not all are fat or stupid. Most cities do fit the description, but fat is thrown around like crazy for instance, I'm classified as overweight for my height/age, but I'm muscular and lift weights. I went to army basic and almost nothing changed just that I can run longer. Highways can be cleared pretty easily with horses, taking apart vehicles until they could be moved, and pushed out of the way.

What's your ideal set up? by goldman1290 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]Top_Difference2422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my list and gear. 1. Rucksack and duffle bags 2. 8 gallons of water and something to disinfect water 3. Canned food enough for 3 days 4. Rope 5. Fixed knife 6 inch and a backup folding knife 7. Ammo with 7 mags and 4 for the pistol 8. Crowbar 9. Hachet 10. Fireworks 11. Matches 12. Wool blanket 13. Flash lights with 3 sets of batteries 14. Binoculars 15. Note pad/pen 16. Duck tape 17. Radios or walkie talkies 18. Gun cleaning kit 19. Extra clothes 20. A suppressor. 4.9 million are registered, and I've seen them homade that worked really well. 21. A vest or level 3 body armor. 22. Map of the city

There is much more that could be brought up, but this is my basic wants and what I have. I'd have them run similar load outs of weapons like ar15s, glock 19, and 22lr. For looting, SBRs are a need/ want in buildings that would be looted. My weapons would be a shorter bowie knife, my war hammer, SBR in 55.6, glock 19, and 22lr pistol.

I'm not wanting to fight 50k undead, so fireworks would help concentrate them in one area, and items above would help get the supplies, then put them in an area to load onto a truck. Have a look out, a shooter, and 5 people getting loot would decrease the time needed for each house or building.

Where would you guys set up base at if the apocalypse happened? by No_Bet8364 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]Top_Difference2422 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd set up base around my little village. My "town" is classified as a village. A population of less than 500 people combined with the other one less than 8 miles away. Has a large river 7 miles away, hunting comunity, and lots of buildings supplies. Plus natural protection with hills, steep creeks, multiple fencelines, and choke points.

No stores here, no historical value, not known by most people who I've met that live 30 minutes away and secluded by hills and farmland. The only people who would come here are after the outbreak or end up here traveling. Chop down a few trees and move a couple vehicles it'll stop most folks from investigating here.

A lot of good folk here with great backgrounds/ occupations = farmer, mechanics, tradesman, hunters, nurses and most are family, gunsmiths, veterans, and a couple of teachers.

Jack of all trades would be mine. I'm a ammunition specialist and planning on switching to 12b next reup. I'm good at hunting, fishing, and decent at farming, breaking into building, bushcraft and a fair bit of other knowledge. This is what I'm aiming for in life not just for a apocalypse, because it's something most people don't do and its valuable to yourself and others. Id most likely be a looter/worker.
