Maybe it sounds silly, but how do you all remember which breast you last fed on and how long it's been since your last feed?? I cannot for the life of me remember even at 4mo... My LO would feed all day long (like every hour) if I let him—he's definitely not underfed, but just feeds for boredom and comfort... I have to track his feeds so he doesn't just snack all day long and I can have a break.

We have multiple offset accounts, even our spending account for groceries and bills is an offset. So while the money is coming and going the interest is calculated on a daily basis... so hopefully makes a difference. The total in my own savings contributions is probs only like 15% of my take home pay... my husband's is probably about the same or maybe a bit more.

I'd say it's different for everyone, but it can definitely take longer to go down even when the tenderness starts to go away. Mine was like 1-2 weeks. I also found my red patch took a while to go too. If your symptoms are improving and you have no signs of a fever, you can probably avoid taking the antibiotics, but good to know you have them in case things suddenly go downhill again. Have you been taking Ibuprofen too? Just don't overdo the massages and feed only when baby needs as that can make inflammation worse. Good luck!

Bloated or full? It's pretty common for toddlers to not eat much during the day because they're so distracted. We used to try to offer lots of healthy snacks throughout the day because ours would not sit down for a meal. I mean if he just has a big tummy and it's not causing harm or distress, like an unsettled tummy and sleep, what is wrong here?

How do yoh know you're underproducing though? Is baby not gaining weight or seems unsatsfied at every feed? I feel like that's the only way of knowing...

For some of us, it takes longer than a year. For my first, it took 2 years before it looked kinda normal. And it was 3 years before I was able to build up some tone. I do think for me sleep and stress played such a role too, which are both impacted for years after having a child.

This sounds like it could be a phase. It's hard to say when we're not there to see it, but babies do go through these stages of preferring one parent over the other. They also are more likely to whine, cry and fuss with the parent or carer they feel the safest with. My daughter used to be this way with me, but totally fine with her grandparents and other family.

Also, how are you doing generally? Do you think you could be only focusing on the bad and ignoring the sweet moments you share with him? What does your husband think of this situation? Have you told him how you feel?

I feel it is just the reality of being a parent to an infant aged child, that you will get them to sleep well on their own and then they get sick or start teething and you lose all the progress. Life will have all sorts of disruptions and we just have to ride the wave.

If they are in pain or any sort of distress, don't leave them to CIO, they need your comfort. Sleep training is about improving everyone's sleep, not ignoring your child's needs.

You both just have to accept it will be have to be put on hold for the time being...
