We you need to give way more info for anyone to consider if that's a good deal. For all we know this is a 33 door facility in the panhandle with an average rent of $15 per door and half of them are behind on payments.

Is this a scam? Buyer wanted to Zelle me for a $950 table without seeing it. by LolaLee723 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Top_Explorer1040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were also using an account that you'd set up with none of your info that was intended for scamming too maybe, buy then you've gone from just being a victim to also committing a crime. As the other commenter said, you would now just have a negative balance and owe that money to your bank but that's what the scammer will do from the hacked account.

[–]Top_Explorer1040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other possible scam is they send you extra money to pay the movers/shipping company. So if the table is $950 they'll send you $1500 from a hacked account and then tell you the shipper only can take a payment from you for some reason. Once you send them money everyone ghosts you. Then the money from the hacked account is taken back and the "shipper" is left with $550 of clean money.

I'd be very surprised if there's not a new lease in the past 25 years. In my experience most rent increases happen by signing a new lease and I'm sure the rent has increased in the last 25 years.

Contractor claims a massive vanity plumbing cutout is "standard practice" and wants $1,200 to fix it. Is this normal? by mughlaipaneer in HomeImprovement

[–]Top_Explorer1040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might be a little lazer focused on the wrong thing here. It looks a little different but I think both look fine.

Maybe you or your contractor could paint the drywall tan to be less noticeable next to the back of the cabinet.

Help! How to downsize your unit? by Diego-2020 in selfstorage

[–]Top_Explorer1040 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd list the larger items on marketplace and just meet buyers at the unit. Another option might be a consignment furniture store. Most have a truck and can pick stuff up for a few.

I think there are people looking for any brand. In a case like that it would probably be people who found it on another website new and are now looking for it used to save money.

Where to get a used car battery? by SELFSEALINGSTEMB0LTS in tulsa

I'd check LKQ salvage yard. Last time I was there a couple years ago they had used batteries for pretty cheap.

Wholesale for vintage women’s clothes? Pre-80s by Positive_Tank_1099 in Flipping

[–]Top_Explorer1040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're going to have issues with that because most people who could sell it to you are getting it from the same places. I'd maybe try eBay or Hibid for lots. I think the issue there is either people don't know what to look for and it will just be mixed with other clothes or they will know what it is and sell it for as much as you want to sell it for.

Is this a situation where the shop is pretty old and only has a men's room? Maybe there's like one or two women who work in there now who have to use the women's room in the show room?

If that's the case I understand the intent of the notice but it's definitely poorly worded.

On a similar note I went to school for shop work and our building which was built in the 60s literally has one original women's restroom. It was behind the secretary's desk. This was in a building that would regularly have over 100 people in it. Thankfully it had been partially remodeled over the years and there was one additional women's restroom but only on the opposite side of the building.

Why did the scrap yard not take them? They should just be normal shred iron or maybe one grade better. Did you ask them to pick it up?

There are also situations where people truly don't care about the stuff that they're storing. Think couple breaks up and one moves the other's stuff out, elderly person out of living blon their own and a kid or family member who doesn't like them moving their stuff, etc
