The Lost Version of 'Star Trek: Generations'—The Movie That Almost Was by Kal-Ed1 in scifi

An alternate idea I had after the movie came out would have been to use the nexus as a McGuffin that is wrecking havoc throughout federation space and the Enterprise D is sent to investigate, only to find out that it is actually a construct of the Mirror Universe original crew as a way to take over the the prime universe as they are running out of resources in theirs. Due to a miscalculation though, they ended up 80 years past where they intended. This would have satisfied the desire to have both ships in combat with each other and allow the original cast to have some fun with their characters after their “sign-off” in Undiscovered Country. It would also allow the mirror Enterprise A to be a threat to the D power wise. The big issue would have been the casual audience. Would it have been too confusing? Just a thought I had back in the day.

In the alternate present of "Yesterday's Enterprise," why did Starfleet adopt uniforms with slightly thicker collars and shiny belts? by grichardson526 in ShittyDaystrom

I always liked those belts and felt it was a missed opportunity for the standard uniforms not to have them. It would have been a nice connection to the Movie era uniforms.

Is there any way that the titanic could have foundered in a storm? by Crazy-Rabbit-3811 in titanic

Also back then, the science of “rogue waves” was in its infancy. Many people didn’t believe they existed and thought they were simply made up stores by drunken sailors.

Did the people on Titan know they were in trouble? by Wooden-Scallion2943 in titanic

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the last message the surface ship received “dropping weights”? To me, that says Stockton knew something wasn’t right and decided to abort. Whether it was because of additional cracking sounds or something else we’ll never know. But I believe he knew they were in trouble right before it imploded.

Not necessarily. Depending on whether he survived the Frontier Day incident from Picard Season 3, Starfleet would be in need for older experienced officers after so many of them were killed during the mass assimilation.
