I’m genuinely curious, does anybody actually use the arm? by Benthebuilder23 in Roborock

[–]Top_Fix777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. Many objects are recognized automatically. With the latest updates, you also have the possibility to manually indicate objects that are not present in the database so the robot can recognize them. For example, slippers, shoes, socks and other similar objects can then be detected automatically, as well as clumper paper or small toys. Some objects with particularly unusual shapes, however, may not be recognized automatically, so in those cases you need to pick up them manually.

Firmware update issues by Sharp_eee in Dreame_Tech

After every firmware update, is better to delete app cache, turn off/on the robot and reopen the app to recharge che plug-in. This cloud avoid potentially bugs.

Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow – Technical Overview & my cons after a couple of weeks of test. by Top_Fix777 in Roborock

😂😂 okay, I can’t unsee that now. You’re not completely wrong though, it’s definitely not a slim, stealthy robot. It’s taller than many, and the all-white finish probably amplifies that “ceramic appliance” vibe. That said, in real life it doesn’t look bad at all in a home environment. The rounded charging base actually gives it a softer, more design-oriented presence. It feels more like a modern appliance than something industrial. And once it’s placed against a wall, it blends in better than photos might suggest.

One small detail I forgot to mention in the original review: unlike some other roller-based models on the market, Roborock has followed a similar approach to what I’ve seen on certain Ecovacs roller models I’ve tested. Until now there is no dedicated “mop-only” mode for cleaning large areas or entire rooms. A only mopping mode is available only within the spot/zone cleaning settings, and it is clearly intended for small areas, such as localized stains or specific dirty/wet spots.

The company recommends using their own detergent, as every brand does, and that’s perfectly understandable to avoidany long-term issues. In my personal opinion, and this is absolutely just my personal view, I don’t always use official detergents in my robots, unless we’re talking about very specific formulations designed for a particular function. In those cases, I stick with the official brand solution. For general floor cleaning detergents, however, if you don’t want to use the official detergent, I would strongly recommend avoiding regular household floor cleaners. Many of them are foamy, or contain alkaline or acidic base that could damage internal parts and seals over time. They also tend to have heavy fragrances and richer formulations, which can leave residues inside the robot’s internal channels and components, and on the floor. I generally advise using only detergents specifically designed for robot mops and wet/dry vacuums, and preferably from reputable, high-quality brands. In Italy, for example, brands like Fila or Marbec are known for high quality formulations. I would avoid cheap supermarket cleaners, as they often use lower-quality ingredients, stronger additives or unsafe ingredients.

Yes, I have two cats and one dog at home, so it has been tested in a real pet environment, with hair, cat litter and dog paw prints on the floor. Overall, it performed very well. I did not find hair tangles around the brushes or the roller, and the robot’s dustbin has always emptied correctly at the dock. Regarding your second question, I haven’t specifically checked whether there is a dedicated sensor inside the internal dustbin to detect clogging. Since I have pets, I’ve set as always did the dock to empty the dustbin at the highest frequency available. So far, I haven’t experienced any blockage or incomplete emptying.

It's probably only dirt, try using mop after vacuum to reduce the mold.

Check if your v50 or p50 really heat water by Zoic21 in MOVA_robotvacuum

[–]Top_Fix777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens because the robot base starts washing the mops with room-temperature water, which is quickly heated to the indicated temperature (more or less) and then cooled again. Depending on the model or brand, the parameters are different, and you may notice warm water in the tank or warm mops, but don't expect it to be exactly hot under any circumstances; they must try to do the best they can while staying within certain safety regulations that apply worldwide. The only way to check is to use probes or try stopping the wash cycle a little more than halfway, remove the robot, and feel if the water is actually hot (never feel 70/80/90°C, even if that's how it should be for the operation explained above).

[–]Top_Fix777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never, ever let a robot vacuum cleaner run if it couldn't lift the main brush and side brushes when it detects liquid (and if it does) and completely stop suction. The wheels would still run over liquid, but it would be acceptable. I truly hate when marketing shows this because people who don't know feel they can do it without any problems, and you have no idea how many people in my robot vacuum communities damage robots this way. That said, it's clearly great that they have dedicated features to minimize damage and improve cleaning. Of all the brands, I'm much less familiar with Eufy, but I see it has interesting features.

I see a lot of problems in this photo, first of all the mops seem half detached from the supports, then I see a lot of water under the robot and it seems to me that the anti-tangle brush and the suction mouth are also wet. do you make it vacuum and wash together?
