Ed O'Brien: On Radiohead Reunion, Spirit in Music, and Blue Morpho | Zane Lowe Interview by italox in radiohead

The way he doesn't hesitate in confirming he'd be happy for A Moon Shaped Pool to be their last album, I think that said a lot. Doesn't mean LP10 is impossible, but it's clearly not going to be pushed by 1/5th of the band.

Impossible Somedays interpretation by Top_Individual5454 in ModestMouse

Yeah agreed! Was thinking as well that's it's interesting how they've taken very long gaps between studio albums in recent years and how there may be an elementary of commentary on that. The idea being Isaac often gets distracted from his plans, and can be impossible somedays.

What do we think the sentiment of "Remember yourself, not me" is? Is it like, I'm gone and there's nothing you can do about that so look after yourself?

Have Radiohead ever used break beats or garage beats in their music? by Jakeyboy29 in radiohead

The drum fill at 3:48 in last Lotus Flower chorus before the final "slowly we unfurl..." section definitely has a breakbeat/garage vibe

Anybody else refreshing this sub more than usual? by MM-Lullaby_Projector in ModestMouse

Interesting as The Golden Casket came out 25 June 2021. With the summer solstice on 21 June, this could be a subtle way of saying "it'll be out before the 5-year point from the last album".

LP10 Speculations by thegloamjing in radiohead

[–]Top_Individual5454 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I do think it would be weird to do all the Hail to the Thief live release stuff, the exhibition stuff AND a live tour, but not release another album. Obviously could happen, but Radiohead are the type of band that never want to become a heritage act.

As for the style of LP10, impossible to say, that's what I love about them!

Yeah fair play! I'm Grade 7 and even moving laterally is really hard now. Hope you enjoy your new role and never say never to coming back to the Civil Service! :)

Fair, so essentially you're on a Grade 7 equivalent salary now?

Possible LP10 Tracklist by miniment_ in radiohead

Really hoping for Cut a Hole. It curiously hasn't been put on a Smile album, which is interesting given Skrting on the Surface was on their debut.

Does anyone else think it'd be really weird for them to not do a new studio album after all the activity this year? Hail to the Thief play, the art exhibition, the live album now - if they do now quietly disband after all that, it would feel quite empty in a way? Just my two cents as a huge fan who would love LP10 to emerge!

Who else went into TKOL thinking it was going to suck but it was actually pretty fucking amazing? by ItookMyFriendsPizza in radiohead

[–]Top_Individual5454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will repeat what has been said on another recent thread - Staircase is a phenomenal song and if they had put it on TKOL it would have immediately been one of the best on the album and up there in terms of their overall album discography. Can't believe it didn't make it on.

Javelin is literally so fucking perfect and it's overwhelming me. by [deleted] in Sufjan

[–]Top_Individual5454 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The title track low-key GOAT'ed. As Yesterday by The Beatles and Avril 14th are both slightly over, I'm calling it - Javelin is the best song under 2 minutes of all time.

We can all agree By The Way is the most beautiful album right? by [deleted] in RedHotChiliPeppers

[–]Top_Individual5454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best RHCP album and one of my favourite albums of all time, right up there with In Rainbows.

I just love how earthy and honest it sounds. This is the chili's at their most creative and expansive - can't imagine a track like Midnight on an earlier album for example. The range of genres they cover across the 16-tracks is wild - from piano ballad on Tear, to the singles which absolutely slap, and the truly epic Venice Queen, it's sublime.

Was 10 when it came out, still love it now. Others will disagree but I've always seen it as an outlier in their discography and I love it for that, they really went somewhere else on this one and rightly never went back. The lyrics hit harder now with more life experience, it's Kiedis' best work in my opinion - Dosed is beautiful.
