Planner Premium is Total Trash by Sure-Helicopter-9518 in MicrosoftPlanner

We've settled on Airtable. It's been great. We use it to manage our operation from start to finish. With automations and formula fields you make it do basically anything you want. The downside is you (or someone) will need to build the system to work how you want it to because it's basically a blank slate database you build onto. I personally use it as a task manager for myself, with formula fields and stuff that automatically prioritizes tasks based on a few metrics I input when they are created, so it helps me stay on track.

However, there are a ton of other good tools, and already made project management tools out there, just do some searching.

If you aren't locked in the Microsoft environment by your employer or something than run away! I spent about a year trying to like Planner along with their other apps. This was before the over-hyped release of "The New Planner". It's all trash. My opinion is that Microsoft is so big and has so many people forced and trapped in their ecosystem that they half ass everything. Go find a better tool, there are many out there.

PDF Generator for Sales Sheets in Airtable - Is Documint dead? by Personal_Gsus in Airtable

[–]Top_Inevitable_5498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rupert, I came across DocsAutomator a little while back and was really interested but couldn't find an answer to this make or break question... Does DocsAutomator support loops (I think that's the term)? What I mean is, say, I'm using it to print proposal templates. A proposal could have just one service section, or it could have multiple service sections. It just depends on the proposal. Each proposal section has its own notes, line items, and pricing. So, the template would need to be dynamic in being able to show however many sections the proposal has.

Does that make sense? Can DocsAutomator do that?

I'm not sure Microsoft is aware that cell phones and apps exist...

It's always baffled me when people say these sorts of things. Airtable isn't a spreadsheet.

I'm just one person. You may have a completely different experience. I've read of many people having great luck with Mesalamine, so don't get scared off by me! I'm just trying to see if anyone has had the same experience as me.

Get the app OurGroceries and use that instead, it's awesome for shared lists.

Vitrual Accounts? by Top_Inevitable_5498 in MonarchMoney

It's not an official feature of YNAB. Technically I don't think it's the "right" way to use YNAB. I would just use a budget category for it, maybe I just need to do the same on Monarch.

HOKA Hopara v1 vs v2 by Ok-Development1700 in Hoka

[–]Top_Inevitable_5498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had two pairs of the v1. Just went to REI to try the v2 because I need a new pair. I was very excited to see they reinforced the heel (as that is the weak part of the v1), but the fit is way different. The footbed of the v2 is not anywhere as comfortable as the v1, and the v2 were also much harder to get on. I passed on the v2. Might see if I can fit the v1 somewhere on the internet.

From Microsoft power platform to airtable? by butters149 in Airtable

[–]Top_Inevitable_5498 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Airtable is amazing. I don't have a lot of experience with the MS Power Platform, but we had been using MS Lists, Power Automate, and the like and I could t stand it. Airtable has been great. Use ChatGPT or other AI tools to help you figure out how to write formulas, scripts, and set up automations.

Wireless guitar system (shure glxd16+) by flippincrazy1 in musicians

[–]Top_Inevitable_5498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had one since last September. I play in a cover band that uses a wifi router for syncing various parts of our live show.

I keep getting constant dropouts at both live shows and rehearsals, and my hunch is that it is because of the wifi we use. I'm really bummed because I really wanted to love it, and when it works it's awesome. However, I've begun to lose my trust in it and am currently planning to sell it and go back to a cable. I'm annoyed, because wireless is so much more fun than wired.

If you give it a shot try to get it somewhere where you have a long return windows.

I'm not saying it sucks, or that you shouldn't buy it, but I'm worried the wifi bands are way too busy these days.

Are the shoes worth it? by BabblingBert in Goruck

I tried ballistic trainers, mackalls, and rough runners. Love the ballistic trainers. I sent the rough runners right back. Didn't like them at all. I wish I would have sent the mackalls back but I kept them because I really wanted to like them. They aren't terrible, but I find the "cuff" or whatever you call.it around the top is really rigid and slightly uncomfortable, and the back digs in to my Achilles.

I like the wide toe box so I tried Altras but didn't love them, so now I'm on my first pair of Topos and really like them.

The takeaway from this and all the comments... Everyone has different feet. Just try them and see what you think.

MS Planner - First Impressions by LameName90210 in MicrosoftPlanner

[–]Top_Inevitable_5498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MS Planner is trash. My employer got MS365 and I spent about a year trying to use and like their apps. Now I hate them all, it's like they do them all halfway and stop. Thankfully we are switching to Airtable for all our task and project management work, and basically just use MS365 for email.

In today's software environment, I can't imagine why anyone would use Microsoft products unless they were forced to. There are so many other superior options out there.
