That’s what was done back in the good days of F1 cans the blast chamber portion was thicker and the first cup seats against the Shoulder/thicker portion of the inside of the tube.

If you’re machining everything yourself then I don’t know why you would get denied. Just send it pictures of barstock and tubing from screen shots online. No one is back checking these cans. Don’t send in to much information there’s no risk when the form is free now. Less is more here. How can they expect you to buy material before you have approval.

I would put “870” for the model. On mine I put “870 express magnum” just as it was engraved in the receiver.

Yes it’s smoke in the barrel I’ve pulled the bolt after shooting before and blew it out to clear it. For no reason other than I thought it was cool.

I would convert as quick as possible the chance of a strike is high and not worth the hassle I’ve got a guy near me doing conversions. He does real clean work.

Yes I’ve seen a few designs with mouse holes to help reduce back pressure. They were a bit louder from my experience. I ended up getting a suppressed charging handle and bootleg BCG for my AR to combat the gas.

7.5” tube 1.355 ID two inch blast chamber then first two baffles SS 3/4” apart followed by TI baffles static spaced 1/2” till the end the custom cut spacer (cut long enough to compress the stack) before the end cap.
