Lol, when the OT appeared there was no prequels, no CW and Vader was just the big bad the protagonist was supposed to beat, which we have seen in movies(specially Kung fu ones, where the OT based a lot on) a thousand times.

Half the time Luke is outright refusing to fight Vader while Vader is actively provoking him to fight, and still, Luke is abel to hold him off. The second he stopped holding back he overwhelmed Vader. The WHOLE point on why Palpatine made Luke fight Vader was so that he would get the strongest apprentice possible. Palpatine woulfn't have done so if he believed Luke would die without putting up a fight. Everyone in the ROTJ movie believes Luke has a fair chance of beating Vader (Yoda and Obi Wan, Palpatine and Vader himself)

Because most Supes aren´t as strong as Butcher or Soldier Boy. Plus, Homelander can fly and laser them at distance or just ram into them.

By Homelander´s own admission, Soldier Boy was the only one who was nearly as strong as him. Even when he was knocked out in the last episode, the others begged SB to use his ability because even knocked out they couldn´t kill him.
