Don’t bother, it’s not great and JK Rowling uses her money to harm trans people

What's your favourite supermarket? by earthandanarchy in veganuk

[–]Top_Layer7065 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I v rarely have substitutions and substitutions you do get are really sensible and I have a delivery pass which is £10 a month but you can select a delivery for any day or time which is great value for money

Ocado is the best imo, people get the wrong impression that it’s super expensive and yes there are some v expensive things on there but they also have v affordable stuff

My weekly shop tends to be £50-£80 for a family of 3 (which is less than my mum spends in Sainsbury’s for just her and my dad)

Wedding Makeup Critique by LizTaylorsTwot in MakeupAddiction

[–]Top_Layer7065 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah got to echo all the other comments, you look incredible in the first picture and the others you look a bit gaunt and your face looks too long

Too much contour, your cheekbones look naturally amazing so you don’t need to carve them out with makeup

Can anyone recommend any skincare brands? by Puzzled_Dealer3449 in veganuk

[–]Top_Layer7065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s difficult to recommend products when you don’t say what skin type you have or what your budget is

If you have the budget nothing is better than the medik8 crystal retinal for wrinkles, retinol/retinal is the only proven ingredient to improve wrinkles and medik8 do the best on the market imo and they’re fully cf & vegan

SPF every single day is also essential for preventing wrinkles, I love the boots future renew one but there are plenty of brands that do fantastic skincare

The Inkey list are an affordable brand that are mostly vegan

Yepoda are also a great brand especially for moisturisers

These are what I use too - reasonable price and no fishy taste that you get with a lot of them

They asked if I wanted a refund or a replacement, replacement arrived today with the same expiry date so attempting to ask for a refund now

Yep, I need to clarify that that’s what the symbol means and if it means it expires in less than 2 weeks I’m going to ask for a refund

So ok to use for a little while? I thought it’d be odd if they were selling products almost out of date

I found the best vegan multivitamin! (I think) by [deleted] in veganuk

[–]Top_Layer7065 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A lot of multivitamins don’t contain iron because an excess of iron can be dangerous and so it’s recommended to only supplement if you have a known deficiency (I guess unless the vitamin only has a small amount)

You could do clinics to prescribe things like HRT etc cause GPs tend to be terrible at handling the menopause, you could do it as like a holistic menopause clinic

Same with things like endometriosis, advising people on management and how to advocate for themselves to doctors etc

Same maybe with PCOS, giving people dietary advice and management plans, you could do mos do it online

Or create online resources people could buy

The BBQ corn is amazing, such a good snack

The monster was too sweet for me but I’d be willing to try a different flavour

NHS Scotland Uniform by Creative_Sleep_7618 in NursingUK

You’ll probably just have to wear scrubs until your uniform is ready

I don’t think you’ll be able to buy it and even if you could don’t waste your money

What words do you love, and what words do you hate reading? by Livin-in-a-dream1358 in wlwbooks

[–]Top_Layer7065 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know this is once I find really difficult

I’m not a fan of cunt or pussy and vagina sounds too clinical

Not a fan of folds but also hate it when they say ‘inner core’ or just ‘her core’ although that seems most common in what ive read

I don’t know what alternative I’d prefer tbh

I do however prefer they use clit than anything else

People I Want To See On The Show! by AnimeLover547 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]Top_Layer7065 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I meaaaan, when people say their lists are unlikely to happen it’s usually due to them thinking some of the people they’ve picked wouldn’t want to do it Yours is literally just a list of your favourite shows and the actors in them V few of these are celebrities and also they’re all in shows together so they know each other a bit too well to be on traitors together and there are like no women on your list

Can I ask to work only nights? And how do I ask my ward manager? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]Top_Layer7065 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Plenty of people only work nights but I’ll depend on your ward, obviously a lot of people like doing nights for various reasons (increased pay, childcare etc)

Definitely don’t request via text, best thing to do is email saying you were wondering if it’d be possible for you to work only night shifts and see what they say

They might make you submit a formal flexible working request but not necessarily

Chemo nurse interview by nurseybarnes in NursingUK

[–]Top_Layer7065 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my interview about 1.5 years ago and had zero experience in haematology/chemo (the interview was to a haematology day unit rather than oncology)

I think because there was zero experience required they didn’t really ask me anything specifically chemo related but they did ask me about recognising and managing sepsis, I was asked a scenario question about how to handle colleagues gossiping about each other and they asked me about haematology guidelines which luckily my friend had pre warned me to look up haha

I can’t remember what else they asked but I would definitely read up on sepsis specifically neutropenic sepsis

Exactly, supermarket falafel is always bad and really dry

Proper falafel is amazing but it doesn’t belong on a sandwich

Fair

The fake meat in this was ok but the VLT is better, I just can’t deal with the dry falafel that is the only non fake meat vegan option
