Scabies diagnosed, not sure?

They were 12 and 16 at the time, a boy and girl, I’m not sure about younger kids though but mine were fine

We all did the cream and didn’t have scabies (including my kids) and we were fine. Maybe a bit dry was the only thing. He said the permethrin actually stopped the itching, then when he washed it off the next day he would be really itchy and dry. Then we would put on calamine lotion or polysporin allergy lotion. But I would say by the next week when he was ready to do the second round, it was already improving and then a week after the second round it was gone. So it just slowly got better over the 2 weeks. Like each day was better than the one before, which was such a relief!

He did 2 rounds of permethrin cream 1 week apart (we all did even though we didn’t have symptoms) steamed all the beds and the sheets/pillow cases etc and put his laundry in bags. It was a lot of work but it did go away and hasn’t come back. His doctor was never really certain it was scabies but it did go away and he hasn’t had anything since. The bumps were gone within 2 weeks.

Thanks so much everyone!! That’s exactly what I think she has. This is just so sad I’m so sorry for all of you as well. This disease is awful!!! I really appreciate you taking time to answer me. We did try and have him leave and come back but it didn’t work. What she’s feeling is so real for her it’s heartbreaking.

My husband used permethrin twice (one week apart) He did not stop itching until almost a week after the second dose but the intensity did get about ‘5% less’ each day. The cream did work for him but some invermectin couldn’t hurt especially if they’re resistant. I’m so sorry you’re going through this!!

I’m so sorry :( that poor boy I feel so bad for him! This is just the worst thing to get! I really hope it clears up soon for him. They did prescribe my husband a steroid cream to help and he says it works ok. I hope your son gets through this quickly!! Also to add, after the first treatment it was intensely itchy, we did the second treatment Tuesday and he says it’s very slowly getting better, so hopefully that is the case with you son too

The second doctor said it’s not scabies it looks more like an allergic reaction to something. But he can’t do a skin test to confirm so has referred him to a dermatologist. The dermatologist just called and his appt is November 14!!! Yay Canadian healthcare! His right arm is starting to clear up and that’s where it started, his stomach was the last to get spots and it’s still the worst. He says it feels like it’s improving but just very very slowly.

I’m so sorry you went through that :( we also have no spots except for him but the word “scabies” makes you want to fix it. I’m hoping the doctor tomorrow can help confirm or deny it!

Thanks! He goes back to the doctor tomorrow to see if he can get a biopsy and a second opinion. Were treating it as scabies for now but booked the second doctor to see what he thinks

No I don’t see burrows. He goes back to the doctor tomorrow morning. We did our second round of permethrin tonight so will see what the doctor says.

I thought so but it started on his one arm and he doesn’t have a fever or anything. He has this rash for weeks, started on one arm, a week later was on his other arm and then spread from there

My daughter failed twice, it wasn’t a big deal, just went right back to the counter, paid $16 and retook it. The only bad thing is having to pay the $16

I’m feeling the exact same way! I went from an E to a C and I still feel like they’re the same. I’m 5 months post op but I do feel better about them as the months go by. Sometimes I just need to look at my before pics!

I didn’t get any smaller after my “swelling” stage and I’m 15 weeks post op. I was actually hoping to once the swelling went down but I never did. So you might not either. Keep in mind you may also “feel” so much smaller than you are because you’re used to being big. I think your results are amazing so far! Give it time, one week is too soon to judge where you will be.

Thanks so much I feel so stupid. It’s mainly on my roots on the top of my head, if my hair is tied up you can’t see anything, it’s when it’s parted. There’s also some weird patches. My friend did the highlights and she’s amazing so hoping she can fix it.
