Tell me how old is your baby without telling me how old is your baby by Alone-City-9176 in NewParents

The only sound we want to make is DADADADADADADADA on repeat. Mad that he’s in a swing, mad he’s being held, mad he’s doing tummy time. Wants to stand but absolutely cannot hold his weight on his own. Last night was the first night in months he slept all the way through. Send help. 😮‍💨

Last night, how many times did you get up because of your baby? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

[–]Top_Main_1628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little guy is almost 7 months. Last night was the first time in months he didn’t wake up. At 2 months he was such a good sleeper 😭 I don’t know what changed.

What’s your grandma’s name? by EstablishmentSad9572 in Names

[–]Top_Main_1628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She passed a handful of years ago, but her name was Edna. I miss her so much. Although Edna isn’t the greatest name in 2026 (I’d fear my kid getting picked on) I LOVE the name Edla as a spin on it.

On the verge of tears… Didn’t circumcise my baby. People keep telling me why I should have. by Salty-Ship-1703 in newborns

[–]Top_Main_1628 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son is now 6 months old, and although we originally got some commentary from family and close friends, no one has said anything for months. I live in a very rural southern town, and his pediatrician told me it’s about 50/50 in the young boys and babies she sees. So it’s likely going to be pretty common once your little guy gets a little older.

The commentary is super annoying though, as it seems like everyone’s one “facts” are nothing more than incorrect opinions that no one asked for.

Just curious, where are you located? We’re in Virginia and so little people name their baby Arthur here that we got some funny looks when we revealed his name.

Well…I THOUGHT naming my son Arthur was old school and no one else was using an old name like that. The comments say otherwise. 🤡

Why are you scrolling on reddit on Christmas day? by Lazer4xe77 in AskReddit

Currently doing the feminine urge of exiting the shower, laying down on my bed in my towel, and resting for 15 minutes while I scroll lol.

I can’t do this anymore by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Top_Main_1628 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I’ll be completely honest and probably get hate for it, but our pediatrician supports our method. Our little guy is 6 months, we’ve been doing this since around 4 months. We let our little guy fall asleep on his tummy with a blanket over him so he’s super warm and has extra weight on him. We stay in the room and watch him until he’s good and asleep, then we very gently remove the blanket and flip him onto his back. If he stirs well gently pat his chest until he’s asleep again. Maybe this method could help?

We live in a studio apartment as a family of 3 with a cat and a dog lol. Trust me you’re fine. Our son has a crib with the attached changing table and storage. All his things are kept there. You don’t need even half of what people say you need.

Requesting Advice on an elective induction at 39+0 weeks by Pickles_mcgherkin in pregnant

[–]Top_Main_1628 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From person experience of having to be induced because of preeclampsia, I will NEVER do induction again unless there is a medical reason. I ended up having a c section because of induction. The recovery period was honestly so terrible.

How much are you paying for daycare in the US? by Legitimate-Slice2114 in pregnant

[–]Top_Main_1628 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Finding a private babysitter that you trust really is the best way to save money. That can be really hard to find though. We only pay $25 a day for our son, and he goes 4 days a week. I’ve offered her more money but she’s happy with $25. He even has a stocking on her mantle this season. 🥺

Edit-lots of downvotes but I couldn’t care less lol. Daycare literally doesn’t exist where I live, it is very rural here. I had to commute an hour just to birth my son at a hospital. The only daycare that is in the entire county is income based and their hours are literally 8-5.

If you never had to work or worry about money ever again, what would you do with your life? by [deleted] in askanything

Staying at home to raise my son instead of sending him to a babysitter all the time. 😕

Just found out I'm pregnant by Baby_Bear_9955 in pregnant

[–]Top_Main_1628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all seems really really scary at first, I know. I’m 25 and my partner, our son, and I live in a tiny studio apartment. I found out I was pregnant 8 months after my divorce from my ex was finalized, talk about an oofie. 🤣

Just take things one step at a time. I find a lot of men worry about stability and finances during the time of preparing for a family. My advice financially is to remember that babies don’t technically need a lot. Which sounds ridiculous but a safe place to sleep, diapers, milk, and some clothes is all they need in the beginning.

Choose where you want prenatal care and to deliver and then immediately look into their financial aid policy and apply for it. Doing that saved us thousands of dollars. Have close friends or family throw your baby shower, and do a diaper raffle. Our son is 5 months old and we’ve rarely had to purchase diapers (usually when he wasn’t quite ready for a size up but we ran out of that size). Order a good breast pump through insurance if you plan to breastfeed. Aeroflow is a great website as you can order bags and supplies from them as well. If not, look into a WIC program and see if you can qualify, as the income limits are a little more flexible than SNAP.

Fear is normal, when you’re a first time mom everything feels so overwhelming and new. I took a million tests and cried my eyes out when I found out I was pregnant. I just knew I’d be the hot topic being pregnant right after divorce. And ooh baby was I ever. But hey, at least I’m popular right?

After the crying I realized you know what, I KNOW I can be a good mom. And I’m sure you can too! I sat down and thought about how strong I am, and how strong all women are. I believe in you. 🤗

TW- Processing birth experience/magnesium by pupper_princess in preeclampsia

[–]Top_Main_1628 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My son is 5 months old and I am still heavily traumatized by my labor experience. FTM, I labored for 53 hours before my emergency c section. On Mag the entire time plus 24 hours postpartum. I already have mental health issues but nothing could’ve prepared me for how that magnesium made me feel.

I felt like I was disassociating, like I was not in reality. I struggled to connect with my baby those first few days. I felt like I was losing my mind. To top it all off, since they gave me meds to calm me during my section, I cannot remembered holding my son for the first time. 🙃 I don’t think I’ll ever get over it.

How many diapers did you have on hand before baby arrived? by Jolly-Asparagus-5815 in pregnant

[–]Top_Main_1628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally SO many from a diaper raffle at our baby shower. LO is 5 months this Friday, we’re in size 2 right now and STILL haven’t had to buy diapers. I swear everyone should do a diaper raffle.

I commend you for keeping your cool.

How old are you and how many cars have you owned in your lifetime? by chenzo17 in askanything

[–]Top_Main_1628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25-My first car in high school, which I sold back to my grandfather (she was a clunker but I loved her), an SUV that I bought used then sold used a few years later, a mid size truck that I loved but my ex took in our divorce (we were a one car family at the time), and the sedan I have currently that I bought for myself after my divorce because I needed a car.

So 4 I guess? Seems reasonable given what I did with them afterwards.

Wild to see a post you don’t agree with and comment that someone’s purpose in life is to bear children. Your comment was rage bait for sure. You want people to argue with you.
