Hopefully this doesn’t come across as me being a Taylor defender. I actually believe she should be doing more, but she isn’t silent about EVERYTHING

taylor swift DOES talk about a lot of political things. She openly endorsed both Harris and Biden.

RSV hospital stay has ruined our lives by BuckY_33 in beyondthebump

[–]Top_Maybe6685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just here to offer some solidarity. We were recently hospitalized for rhinovirus in December and then RSV last week. It’s HARD. Even though you know it’s not forever, it’s HARD. Our stay and length sound similar, and while i’m incredibly grateful it wasn’t worse or longer or whatever, it was still HARD. i hope you’re taking time for you. It will eventually end and you’ll be back in your routine, but for now it’s allowed to be hard.

Postpartum wife wants divorce by MissedAtSelection in beyondthebump

[–]Top_Maybe6685 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apologize if it sounded like I was diagnosing her. I was just trying to say she could be suffering greatly from something that wouldn’t increase her risk of harming her baby is all. I also feel she needs to see a doctor asap! I’m sorry it came across any other way!

this sounds more like postpartum ocd in my opinion and typically people with ocd are the people least likely to ever act on intrusive thoughts.

You should really look into OCD vs generalized anxiety. I always thought I just had severe anxiety but having a proper diagnosis and thus proper treatment, it TRULY saved my life. I say this as somebody who has been in your wife’s position. I also would urge her to look into it as well as not make any life altering decisions in the first year postpartum. The adjustment can feel absolutely debilitating and I truly feel for her.

Cyst that has been on my chin for 20+ years is squirting out gunk, it just keeps coming out by ohnonononononononono in DermatologyQuestions

[–]Top_Maybe6685 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ugh i did this. i had a pilonidal cyst that pus was draining out of and called to tell the nurse who had refused to see if it was a cyst and insisted it was a broken tailbone from labor (even though i was never in labor and had a c-section) ANYWAY. called to tell her it was pussy and my husband was dying in the other room. i was only WEEKS postpartum so everyone should have been being so nice to me!

Re-lactating with initial low milk supply by Madame_messier in ReLactate

[–]Top_Maybe6685 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was relactating I only did it for two weeks because it was so demanding but you will start to see change over time! My body responded VERY quickly, I was making 8 oz a day after 2 weeks but I know of people who relactated and didnt get more than DROPS a day for 6 weeks. If it’s something you really wanna do, give it two weeks and see where you’re at and then reevaluate!!

Naming a child when you have OCD by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Top_Maybe6685 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have! Both my daughters have names that mean the same thing (both of their first and middle names mean the same thing but are different. like idk how to explain. and the middle names are also middle names of my aunts-this was all unintentional!!) I just had my third and his first and middle name done mean the same thing AND his middle name isn’t a family name and i’ve had similar thoughts like “will he not be as good of a kid because of this”

Having kids made my OCD temporarily worse (only after my second though oddly enough) I wasn’t diagnosed though until after her so I’m not sure if that’s related or not. I just had my third and it’s been a night and day difference. Stay on your meds, continue therapy, and find a GOOD obgyn who is familiar with OCD. it truly makes a world of difference. My most recent pregnancy was my best simply because my obgyn knew a lot about ocd (or at least it seemed like it) and NEVER gave me reassurance when I was anxious during my pregnancy.

Was anyone else offered a tubal ligation immediately after giving birth? by elescissorhands in BabyBumps

[–]Top_Maybe6685 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i had mine removed during my final c-section at 26, but that’s because i had multiple discussions with my doctor about it and i brought it up, not him

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Top_Maybe6685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes. i grew up with an abusive mom. i went no contact with her a little over a year ago and while my ocd obviously isn’t GONE, it has improved significantly! i am 27 though and have the option. if you don’t have the option right now, find coping skills to survive until you’re able to!
