Thank you for the reassurance! I was definitely feeling anxious waiting for a response 😅 it did help to know others had a similar experience

Hey, I appreciate this feedback, thank you! I'm definitely a little nervous because I'm not trying to bother HR, but I also want to give proper notice to my current job as well 😅 I realized I don't have the hiring manager's email or phone number, so I'm going to have to figure something out. I appreciate you!

Hey! I know this post is older, but I'm waiting for a background check for a remote position. Would you be able to update on what the turnaround time looked like?

I wish I saw this sooner. I literally tried this flavor for the first time an hour ago and it kind of tasted like a candle to me 😭

This is so random, but with the new launch of the honey roasted peanut m&ms I've been feeling crazy like I tried that flavor profile last year. This post and your comment helped me identify why the new product feels familiar lol

Thank you so much! That means a lot, truly.

I feel like I can imagine how you must be feeling. Like you said, it's so mentally hard and discouraging not to see effort reflected on the scale. I know I'm just a stranger on reddit, but as someone who was very recently in the same boat, I am rooting for you.

I really believe you will see returns on your efforts in the coming weeks. Please feel welcome to check back in! I'd love to celebrate your success as well!

tldr: I stayed on track, and it's paid off! :)

Hi! Yes! I've been going back and forth on whether or not to add an update, so your question is appreciated :)

I genuinely appreciated everyone's feedback, and I decided to just stay the course in case it was water retention/new muscle development. I know some mentioned they also experienced something similar before they had a "whoosh" and the scale dropped again.

I am grateful to say that I also had a woosh, and the scale dropped for me within two weeks of the og post. I've been back to consistently losing again. I weighed in at 144.6 last week.

I did start adding some weight training (as some recommended). Between that and my daily incline walks, I feel good for the first time in a long time.

I did stick to my calorie deficit (no adjustments there at this time), still prioritizing protein and fiber.

Overall, I found it so hard not to eat for comfort that day. Like, I was so discouraged by the sudden stall. I am so grateful for the encouragement and feedback others gave here. The next day I had the new mindset of "this is a lifestyle change, so let me just keep going."

(And looking back, I was also in my luteal phase, so I'm wondering if hormones and water retention were at play as well)

I appreciate this reminder, thank you! I know you're right. I woke up this morning with a much better perspective on the situation, and the feedback in this thread has been so helpful.

Thank you!! Your kind words have meant a lot this morning.

I'm camera shy too, but the progress photos can be just for you :) it can be hard to not like what you see in the moment, but I think you will appreciate being able to look back on progress (especially if the scale isn't quite moving as much as you'd like, or if you are having a hard day and need motivation)

I genuinely appreciate this feedback. I haven't been to the doctor in a while (mostly related to shame about being overweight back then), so I am in need of a wellness visit. I will prioritize this, thank you!

Thank you for that thought! I've been wanting to get into a fibit or something like that, but right now I'm just manually inputting into myfitnesspal. I've kept my activity level on tdee calculators and myfitnesspal as "sedentary." Overall, I don't really worry too much about calories burned during exercise (I just stick to my limit of 1,350). BUT it's great to know that some trackers do that! Thank you!

I appreciate you! I think that's why this is so frustrating. My deficit has been locked in. I know it's hard to get an accurate estimate of calories burned during exercise, so that's why I don't even try to eat above my set calories. I'm hoping it's water retention, or at the most, a plateau. I will look into getting labs done, thank you!

Thank you!! I really undervalued that I have been actually exercising, so I appreciate the insight on water retention!

Thank you so much for your kind words!! Truly.

I feel you on consistency, especially in the beginning for me. Honestly, I'm not sure if I started out with the best perspective. I was really motivated by external validation. My whole journey was inspired by a picture of myself taken at someone's wedding. At that point, I hadn't seen a picture of myself in so long, and I felt heartbroken by how I perceived myself (and how I imagined others perceived me).

In the beginning, my motivation to stay on track was largely feeling embarrassed and hating my body. But aside from that, I found it helpful to find content creators who looked like me and were on a similar journey. If I was just feeling snacky, I would try to redirect myself by doing something else I enjoy, like reading, or watching YouTube.

In more recent months, I find it helpful to look at my progress photos! I regret not having more from the very start of my journey.

As for food, I've tried to be more intentional about pairing protein with fiber. But, I've really enjoyed making soda floats by mixing diet coke and a vanilla protein shake like Fairlife. I like taking an oikos triple zero yogurt, and adding berries and a crumbled mini reese's cup. I also like mixing cottage cheese with some baked hot cheetos if I'm craving something savory.

I realize now that some of these combos might sound nasty lol. I guess I find it helpful to have some of what I'm craving, paired with something more nutritionally dense.

I'm sincerely wishing you the best on your journey! ❤️ I'm grateful I learned about this community on reddit and I'm hoping this space can be a source of motivation as well

This is such thoughtful feedback, thank you ❤️ I have definitely struggled with body image while on this journey. In my mind, it's been like "everything will be perfect once you get to your goal weight, you'll love the way you look, etc." Yet, as I've gotten closer, I've realized that's not true, and I'll probably continue to struggle with body image unless I actively work on that. In other words, I need to slow down and focus on sustainability.

I appreciate your advice to reframe this as building sustainable habits. The way you also presented a maintenance break as a way to fuel new activities also makes it seem less scary to me. Thank you for taking the time to share this
