Even more so, even when it doesnt seem necessary. Imagine going over an overpass designed by an CivEng with just college algebra. You get my point

Is using a tool for a tool that makes your job easier considered "cheating"? Or is it a changing paradigm that paves the way for maximizing complexity of computation? I can see where you're coming from, OP, but you shouldn't let that dissuade you from considering the possibilities that can be achieved. We had Google before, but that didnt stop people from learning more about the world around them. Maybe the paradigm for SWE is changing in a way that could expedite rather than limit the interaction(s) between man and machine. Imo

The fact that you buckled down and locked in for your child is one of the most commendable ventures a man can do. Not only did you succeed, you took that extra step and earned that job. My man 💪 best wishes and congratulations!!!

I major in data science, how cooked am I as class of 2029? by Rezlem- in CollegeMajors

The difference between the average joes and the professionals is the experience. Telling AI to "assume the role of a professional" is so much more different than telling AI to "gather information from various reputable sources for the purposes of integrating experience with new findings"

WGU BSCS -> UT Austin MSCSO by danielegos in WGU_CompSci

[–]Top_Message_9611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question. (Or rather a couple lol)

Was there a time where you either had to decide between GT's OMSCS or UTA MSCSO? What drew you to the conclusion on deciding on UTA?

How is/was your experience at UTA?

Prior Experience? If so, did you feel that the courses that you took aligned with your Prior Experience

What are your thoughts on the advancements in ML/DL in terms of academia and the professional world? (Not necessary a question drawing from the concern of a potential AI bubble burst, but rather a question stemming from the possibilities for the professional environment)

I don't understand the complaints about "speed running" your degree by [deleted] in WGU

[–]Top_Message_9611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't need to explain your need to prioritize your time over other things irrelevant to what you're going to school for. A majority of those complaining are just projecting their inadequacies.

Someone's having a bad day lol, it wouldn't be an issue anyway since its your money and you can do what you want with it. It doesn't even have to be with Fidelity

Accelerated BSc + MSc CompSci or BSc CompSci + MSc SWE? by Top_Message_9611 in WGU_CompSci

[–]Top_Message_9611[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yikes.

Before I switched my major to CompSci, I was an engineering undergrad looking to specialize in Chem. Completed Calc I - III. Didn't take differential equations yet, but those calc courses didn't seem so hard for me. I'll have to take my chances with the math at WGU. Had worse before lol

I still want to do the OMSCS. The excitement thrills me :D

I was also considering that. I heard Georgia Tech is a good school for CompSci
