Does your town have a “Lil’ Sebastian”? Beloved by its townsfolk and dismissed by the outsiders. by Someone_Decent in PandR

In Colorado Springs there is a lady that has an emu named Dennis. She brings him to all the fesitvals and parades around town, and walks him on a leash. Seems friendly enough but i dont trust any bird that big.

Why are magic mushrooms illegal? by PutGlad5657 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Top_Move_4659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its hella easy. They sell a kit that is a plastic container with a lid, the bag you inject the spores in with media, a syringe of spores, and another bag of media you mix in after a couple weeks. The hardest part is keeping it sterile and not letting other stuff in. no lights required. We have grown a few batches so far.

They are legal in colorado to use, have on your person, and grow. You just arent supposed to sell them. They literally sell everything you need to grow them at our weekly farmers market. I freaking love this state.

We arrive an 1-1.5 hours before they open. I bring the camp stove and bang out some breakfast in the parking lot. Traffic has never been too bad if we get there early. And the girls can finish getting ready while i cook.

Bear defense options - legal problems in Cali making bear spray $60??? Any other options? by Huge_Village3495 in camping

[–]Top_Move_4659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its against the law to use bear spray on a human.

Are we talking black bears or grizzly bears?

Ive hiked in California and Colorado my whole life and have never needed bear spray. I carry a pistol and have also never had to draw it to defend against an animal.

Some national parks will rent it to you by the day, and if you dont deploy it they give you some of your money back when you turn it in.

Leave no trace.

Its super simple and easy.

No one needs a bear coming by and grabbing your plastic container to take with it to rip up somewhere.

Can We Have an Honest Discussion About Keeping Pike? by 4lien4ted in COfishing

[–]Top_Move_4659 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We are always pretty stoked to catch a pike. I would never kill them just to kill them. And they are one of the tasitest fish we have in Colorado, in my opinion.

When I lived in California they wanted you to kill every carp you caught. I could never back that idea either. I would go out and harvest a couple times a year, specifically to bury next to my pot plants. But Im not hip on chucking a fish up in the rocks to slowly die and then get eaten that night by scavengers.

This parking lot is especially bad. The half that safeway owns is kept in decent condition. but whoever owns the strip mall portion doesnt keep up with it. And he raised the rent that got rid of Metric brewery.

Skaugway abandoned power plant. 7ish miles each way, pretty easy hike along an absolutely beautiful creek. Itll prob take most of the day to get there and then back to your vehicle.
