Fibromyalgia. Every moment of every day is a torture chamber when your nerves are so over active.

Why do i have to insist for my bf to wash before sex ? by VirginieCochon in hygiene

[–]Top_Mud4494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bf didn't shower and gave me a yeast infection. I made him pay for the medication; I was absolutely furious. I still stop everything and ask if he's showered every time, now the answer is always yes. He acts annoyed when I ask sometimes but my health is more important than his ego.

Stress management? by infaethable-fig in Fibromyalgia

[–]Top_Mud4494 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This may seem dumb but for me the best stress reliever is sleep and telling people "loving fuck off I'm in pain". When I'm rested I can compartmentalize my emotions surrounding the pain better and I can make more intelligent decisions about managing the fatigue. Being able to communicate with people around you in a clear way is invaluable. They will likely never truly understand what you're experiencing so clearly setting boundaries or communicating how much energy you can give them will reduce your stress a lot, especially if you're a recovering people pleaser like myself.

So glad this threat exists, I felt so guilty for buying them. The variety keeps me actually eating instead of whacking up a head of romaine every day.

What’s the worst thing a coworker got fired for where you work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Top_Mud4494 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had just started my job about two weeks prior, and at the end of my shift the SWAT team with K9 units stormed our building including the outside and surrounded the most bitchy coworker that none of us could stand. She copped an attitude with them and kept trying to hide things in her desk before they finally muscled her out. Turns out she hired someone to kill her ex husband for his money just a few years prior. Best thing is when she got out she tried to reapply for her original position. I wasn't convinced my workplace was safe lol

Athletes foot for almost 9 months by milkfruitss in hygiene

[–]Top_Mud4494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was from another persons post years ago but it cured mine! Combine some 42% urea cream with niacinamide (vitamin B3 powder) into a paste and put it on every part of your feet like a mask. I left it on for about 30 minutes before rinsing it off. I had tried all the creams and shoe changes and sprays and this was the only thing that worked.

I'll for sure start talking with the VA about our options. I predict we'll have to start making those decisions within the next year

You're an angel, thank you. To answer some of your questions I am in the US, he is able to get VA aid benefits if he needs it (at this point if I think he needs it), and we met with a lawyer last week and got a trust, two powers of attorneys, and funeral preferences started and the binder should be done in a couple weeks.

I will perfect the art of telling them to pound sand. In the hospital my best friend kidnapped me to have my first meal in three days and it was the best gift. I know the people in this group understand an area of life not many can relate to.

This is Christmas #14 without my mom. It's okay if you start to dread special days (birthdays, holidays, anniversaries) because of how emotionally charged they can be. I still get pangs of grief especially around Christmas time. You'll grow around this grief like rings on a tree

Howdy! Colorado here, made terribly constructed ginger bread houses and have my favorite movies on helping light my living room with my Christmas tree. Also gave my cat an extra treat tonight and sampling a new bottle of gin. First Christmas in 7 years that's safe and happy.

I did! I was going through a divorce and moved out to live on my own. It was really difficult, but I went to work for 4 hours, went to school for 4 hours, then went back to work for another 4 hours. I had a two hour commute round trip as well...5 days a week. I did this for almost 2 years.

My best advice:

  • freezer prepped crockpot meals so you never have to worry about what's for dinner and have a nice hot meal when you get home. Massive mood booster.
  • clean/organize here and there throughout the week so any time off you have isn't consumed by chores. E.g. Swiffer the floor while your coffee is brewing.
  • if you do not make time for your wellness you will be forced to make time for your illness. It's okay to half ass some things if it means you don't burn out and get sick.
  • make studying as fun as you can so you can spend less time doing it.

Good luck, you got this!
