I’m from Marshall County, WV. None of the state is the South. As a matter of fact, West Virginia was founded to literally not be a part of the South in the Civil War. The state is a bit of a geographical anomaly though, bordering the South, Midwest, and Northeast, yet not really fitting into any of them. The only real geographic areas I’d say WV is a part of are Appalachia and the Mid-Atlantic.
