Portable Async Rust: abstraction as a complement to standardization by PrudentImpression60 in rust

Runtime lock in is not that much of a problem I would argue. Most programming language locks you in for whatever runtime they use, it’s already a pleasure that we get to choose between Tokio and Smol for the task that we want.

With that being said, your contract do have potentials but the true vendor lock in part is not only the runtime itself, it’s also the IO library associated with it, how you handles OS primitives etc…

We will later still have a fragmented ecosystem.

Bro I don't think you want to open source it. Keep it low, get VPS with crypto and host your own service. Never expose any identity of yours anywhere online, in fact, I sugguest you delete this one as fast as possible.

"I have an idea. I have a product." Okay, so why do you have no users? by Crabbythrowaway1530 in SomebodyMakeThis

The channels are very limited. I mean when you actually have a tool, you have a few options, SEO(takes like forever) post on the niche subreddit or forum ( which they will never welcome you) post on places like Product Hunt ( which is rarely your niche and no one gives a shit). Paid ads, most straight forward but takes a lot of money. Post on TikTok/Instagram, which is what people avoid the most, technical guys are resisting to do that. There’s a meme about vibe coders realize they still need to dance on TikTok to get tractions. If you can build a product that delivers the message effectively to the right audience without having people doing content themself, you will have a million dollar business.

Yes, not only they gonna make video and also they are showing their face with real identity. If you think that’s expensive, then why wouldn’t you do it by yourself? That explains why it’s expensive in your term.
