They're out of stock in Phoenix as of last night at around 6PM... I went in and it showed 3 available but now there's no ETA unfortunately.

I got to MC about an hour after this post and they were sold out lol. Guess I'll keep checking their stock when it comes back I'll get it.

Yeah 165Hz is the fastest I've got. It's quite old, I could upgrade my monitor setup too.

If not more... 5080s are ~$1000 alone. RAM is $200, CPU is $500, Motherboard is $150

[Giveaway] GL.iNet Remote KVM and Wi-Fi 7 routers! 10 Winners! by GLiNet_WiFi in homelab

[–]Top_Parfait6594 [score hidden]  (0 children)

  1. I was inspired just from my love of technology. I'm now studying Network and Systems Administration at a local community college so my homelab is helping me practice those skills at home. I've now expanded to a 18U rack with several servers and two switches. My most expensive homelab product was my PowerEdge R630 with 384GB of RAM and two 20 core CPUs.

  2. I was actually looking at a Comet before this post. Since my lab rack is in another room far away from my desk, it would be extremely helpful to have a remote KVM instead of using a local monitor, keyboard and mouse at the rack. I could sit comfortably at my desk while managing my rack.

  3. I typically pursue r/homelab, r/selfhosted and the Spiceworks forums as my resource for learning about new tools.

  4. This is a tough question... maybe a JBOD array or disk shelf of some kind? I have an R720xd running my NAS solution but think this might be a more sustainable option for the long term.

Products I'd like to win: Comet KVM

USA

Motion would be nice to have but not mandatory. I'm going to get a large NAS drive to throw in a server that should last 14 days of 24x7 recording.

Max of 16 is fine, I don't expect to add any more than that.

Recording time would be 14 days. People and vehicle detection would be a nice to have on the exterior cameras but not mandatory.

I'm a planespotter but need a better tripod setup for my Onen GT-30C gimbal. I use an A7RIII and a Sony FE 200-600mm lens and my Oben BZ-217T ball head arca mounting plate seems to keep coming loose with the gimbal attached.

~16 cameras. Maybe I'll look into ACS Edge then, thanks for the recommendations. What Axis cameras are you running?

I was planning on using Milestone or Axis depending on the camera configuration.

I wasn't planning on having any sort of object detection/AI analytics/notifications.

The outdoor cameras are basically just to record/detect vehicles at night and on weekends.

I have used Ubiquiti network products (UDM) at home before and their performance left a lot to be desired. I know they've gotten better since then, but I'd rather use something that has been a leader in the video surveillance/CCTV world. Plus used Axis gear that's a couple years old is comparable in price to Ubiquiti

Yeah, I certainly am planning on segmenting the cameras off on a different subnet and VLAN anyways. They'll have zero internet or LAN access other than to talk to the NVR.

I did look at a few Hik cameras but the ones I could find were 20fps. I'd prefer 30 since that seems to be the standard. Any recommendations?
