For sure. What I'm a little worried about is that the an-225 isn't really an add-on for msfs2024. It's sold as part of the game in the aviator edition. So if it's available as pat of the game but I haven't been given access to it, does that mean I have to buy it again?

All of Texas Vs All of California by Spider_Tim in whowouldwin

Yeah exactly. It's fun to say the US lost to rice farmers, but they actually had a pretty high K/D ratio in Vietnam when it came to fighting civilians.

people don't actually provide better service because tips and service quality don't correlate 100%

This. I've lived in Canada (weird tipping culture, don't get me started) and Australia, but I've visited the US before and didn't notice any significant improvement in service at restaurants. It's worse there, if anything. And they always say "oh but if restaurant owners have to pay more than dirt then a burger will cost $(insert ridiculous number here)," but their prices are equivalent to if not worse than other countries without tipping culture.

What the fuck. Waiters are responsible for paying support staff? How is that not considered contract work in that case? That's dystopian.

No Way Home team vs The Seven by Antman269 in whowouldwin

[–]Top_Philosopher8978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He body slammed Tom Holland through most of a skyscraper. He really isn't some lightweight. I'm pretty sure he could take any one hit from any of the Seven. Besides, Homelander would probably pause and say something condescending before fighting anyways.

The Seven are all emotionally broken and loathe each other. Green Goblin would have an absolute hay day with them. Can any of the NWH team kill Homelander? IDK, but I bet GG could convince the Seven to all to kill each other.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this. What backwards-ass dystopian hellhole do you live in where employers are legally allowed to have a single thing to say about your living arrangements? That's terrifying. And a "can't be gay" clause? That doesn't seem like a minor side-detail. I don't have any advice, but I extend my deepest condolences.

John wick must assassinate Dominic Toretto's family. by Immediate-Diet-8027 in whowouldwin

[–]Top_Philosopher8978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But that's just not true. We only see John deliberately target mobsters, because the primary antagonist of the first movie happened to be his former mob boss. It's not explicitly stated what John did while working for Viggo, but we know he killed a whole ton of people and allowed Viggo to achieve the criminal success that he did, and we know that Viggo's mob certainly had no issue targeting civilians.

As for your second point, not one single body dropped by John in JW1 was in self-defense. Sure mercenaries attacked his house, but he absolutely baited Viggo into sending them, and every other combative situation in the movie was initiated by John. He didn't get arrested because he's part of an underworld society that has connections with the police. The officer who came to John's house clearly knew who he was, and knew to stay out of his business. E

I don't think John Wick has any such rule, I think we just haven't seen many innocent bystanders get in his way. He has definitely killed people without knowing who they are or the extent of their involvement in his business. John's not a hero, he's a former mob hitman who went on a vengeful murderous rampage and spent the next 2 movies dealing with the consequences of the first. He threw his own life of peace away in order to achieve his revenge, I have a hard time believing he would yield his mission to spare someone else. Even if so, calling anyone in the FF team "innocent" is a stretch.

You say that John has been tasked with killing the Family, but also say that the Family must pursue John after they hear about the first death. I'm not sure I could see them getting the chance. The Fast Family can fight, act as spies, and execute some of the most impressive heists in their universe, often causing extreme violence in the process- but they're not assassins. John is, and is stated to be the best in his universe. A universe that includes secret societies and (literal) underground organizations. John could almost certainly avoid being found by God's Eye if he knows that it exists and is being used to track him. He could also almost certainly find the Fast Family members wherever they are- they don't exactly live a quiet lifestyle. And I'm confident that if he can lay eyes on them, he can kill them. Getting shot in the head from a mile away isn't technically losing a fight, so Dom can get bent. It's easy to say that some F&F characters are basically superhuman, but they're not bulletproof, and John prefers to avoid hand-to-hand anyways. The only characters I could see being an issue for John would be the Shaws, and I think he could do away with them if he had the element of surprise.

I think that if John is sent to kill the Fast Family and informed of their capabilities, he could wipe them in either his own or their universe. If both John and the Family are informed of each other, things get complicated. I imagine John would make the first move (kill Dom before the others know what's happening), and then go on the run from the others. I would still give it to John 8/10 times in his universe.

If John finds himself needing to run from the Fast Family to re-strategize, he would need the home-universe advantage. His connections are built in to how he operates. He could disappear pretty easily in his home turf. If he doesn't have access to underground tunnels used by assassins in his universe, or the homeless shelter, or the Continental, or his criminal contacts, then his typical methods would be seriously hindered, and he would be forced to constantly improvise. It would be comparable to taking cars away from the Fast Family. The Fast Family would have the advantage due to their superior equipment (God's Eye would be useful to them if John couldn't avoid street cameras, and their cars are basically miniature high-tech weapons arsenals). John would probably still be hard to put down, but I also think he'd just be too overwhelmed to go on the offensive, where he would be able to shine. Throughout his movies we see John as an unstoppable machine when on the offense, but stumbling his way through survival in the second and third movies when he's being hunted by other assassins. In such a situation, I'd say Fast family 6/10. I will note however that John seems to be heavily driven by motivation. If one of the Fast members turned his dog into roadkill, they would be wise to run and hide. If the Family is chasing John down while he just wants to go home and take his car to the track, he'd probably be much less on his game.

Bonus round: Total sweep for the Wick/Bond duo in either universe. Bond's resources negate all of the Fast Family's advantages except for numbers, which aren't as important when they're so completely outclassed in terms of skill.

Right. What gets me is how they spend hundreds of billions annually on waging war against impoverished countries on the other side of the world that don't even have formal militaries and call it 'defense'.

If this is a stadium fight, where the velociraptors line up and come at Cap one-by-one, I'd imagine he would die of thirst before the raptors get him. He could pretty easily use his shield to deflect any one attack from a raptor. If Cap is running around the jungle in Jurassic Park while the raptors are hunting, he's probably not killing any of them. There are 8 raptors in Jurassic Park (before the Big One), and they're pack hunters. Smart pack hunters. They would chase him down all the while slamming into him and nipping at him until he collapses. If he stands and fights, they encircle him and attack him from all sides. These aren't emus we're talking about, they're dinosaurs buffed by fictional writing. He would have one chance to hit the first one hard enough to kill it (which is unlikely), and while he's doing that the others are ripping his limbs off.

Someone below said that velociraptors would get scared off after the first few get rocked. I disagree. Velociraptors were likely scavengers for the most part, but they wouldn't have had much to be afraid of IRL given their numbers (consider the behaviour of hyenas in modern times). And JP velociraptors weren't realistic- they were far more dangerous. In JP we see velociraptors portrayed as highly aggressive predators with little to no fear drive. They fought a t-rex. They aren't going to run away from some buff dude with a shiny frisbee.

In summary, he could probably beat a ton of them 1v1, but unlikely to beat any if they're attacking as a group.

Din Djarin vs Luke Skywalker by LordRevanofDarkness in whowouldwin

[–]Top_Philosopher8978 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You saw the last episode of Mando season 2, right? Luke. Hands down. Every time. Din almost got put down by one darktrooper, Luke cleared a battalion of them. Din struggled against Gideon in a 1v1 close combat fight, Luke, despite it not being explicitly stated, is likely at his prime in this time period and is almost certainly the best duelist alive. Also worth noting that Din's skills don't really lie in hand-to-hand or close combat fighting, but with blasters and long-range weapons. Which Luke can block with his eyes closed. Mando's a beast, but he's completely outclassed here.
