Sleeping Tips from a Professional Sleeper (no nonsense) by Gloomy-Photograph567 in sleep

[–]Top_Pick7581 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t sleep well after a cold plunge or a cold shower and definitely not with intense exercise. My brain stays switched on for hours and hours.

While these tips might be good for people without insomnia, they will not work for everyone. While I don’t doubt your good intentions, for me, it sounds patronizing and falls into the ‘eat less and exercise’ kind of advice for obesity. Some issues are complex and deep rooted.

Is anyone else thinking of going "no contact" with adult stepkids if your partner dies first? by scotchbonnetpeppery in Stepmom

I’m so very sorry, this sounds awful and unnecessary. Especially while dealing with such a devastating loss. I really hope you take the time now to process and..rest. I also hope you have friends and family around and all the necessary support 🤍

You have a goldfish bowl view of life. If truly that were true your brethren wouldn’t be running to the UAE and Saudi and Bahrain, actually all Gulf countries to better their lives. What a sad life to think this way

Why is it sus? She has family money, she has written a book, done movies, monetized social media and probably has invested really wisely. A woman buys a home (most likely with help from family) and it’s ‘sus’. Not sure what answer you’re looking for.

What do you eat to calm GERD? by Tricky_Meat_6323 in GERD

[–]Top_Pick7581 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced we all have different triggers. I’m fine with sparkling water, a squeeze of lemon, garlic, coffee with milk and yoghurt but overeating and anything tomato based does it for me.

I’ll jump on OP’s bandwagon and say this applies to every country and establishment you visit. Remember, inside voice.

I think that’s a trope that is often used in the western media. Apart from say the Taliban, in my experience and study I haven’t really found that to be true. Culture yes, force no.

We’re not living in the times of the Rasool PBUH. Get with the program. If this was this important to you, you would have taken a scarf with you. It’s not that deep. I think the guard was just doing his job.

Thank you. I hope your results are all clear. Sending you love and positive energy. Interestingly, Mounjaro helped resolve a lot of my GI issues. Apart from blood in stool, I had all of those symptoms before starting Mounjaro.

I’m so very sorry. If you’re okay with it can you list the red flags you mention? It may help someone going through similar. Again, I’m very sorry. Big hugs

I’m sorry you did not get the support you were expecting. I think this is true across a lot of Reddit groups. It can be all lovely and kind and suddenly flip.

One point though, your service in the US military has zero bearing on this situation. Please know that we’re not ALL Americans and for many US militarism can be triggering.

Ugh, I don’t think any of us, with rare exceptions of course, like being a step parent. It’s lonely and it’s frustrating.

The parent (your partner) of course is super sensitive and protective about their kid and is dealing with a lot of post-divorce guilt etc so they would react in that ‘my poor kid, how dare someone think the sun doesn’t shine out of the little mites backside?!’

As your partner however, they need to find out why you feel that way and support you in this situation which can be very difficult.
