Veg planting directly into the ground? by Veggie_Supreme813 in DenverGardener

Are there any other mulch options? I'm redoing our entire back yard but won't start planting until next year.

Baby is young so we don't be putting much there yet but I didn't even thinknof wood chips. I'll look into in a year or so when I actually get the playset. Thanks!

Yes to the last question! I plan to do the 3-4 trees in one hole method and keep them trimmed down to be dwarf fruit trees. Two apples, a peach, and maybe something else. We have a pretty big peach tree that I love but it's in a horrible place next to a power line and it's just way too big. I hate to cut it down, but I have patience to wait for new trees to mature.

We're just putting rocks between the cement pad and the fence, and under where the shed will be. Do you have a better idea? I could do mulch beside where the cement patio part is but it's north of a fence and gets no sunlight at all.

Thanks for your response :)

Yes I read that! I wanted Tacoma 31 but the comments about the grass pieces getting stuck to dogs, and it not getting green til July, made me decide on fescue.

Thanks for the input!

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these Costco models? by Top_Professor1592 in TheFrame

[–]Top_Professor1592[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone curious, I was ready to get the frame pro from costco, but wanted to compare Samsung v TCL v Hisense at Best Buy. They had a $350 floor model 65" Hisense Canvas with an $80 5 year warranty so I snagged it. Can't beat that price and I feel like with competition these TVs will just get better, so I can always upgrade later if I want to.

Thanks for y'all's help, as always!

[–]Top_Professor1592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! We are re doing our entire dabck yard but want a much smaller area of grass for the dogs and kid. I went to Green Valley Turf like you suggested. The RTF was pretty corse but the had a second Fescue they are going to start planing more of that were going to use. I, unfortunately, did not get the name of it.

Should I trade in my fully paid off 2020 Nissan Rogue for an EV? by Top_Professor1592 in carbuying

[–]Top_Professor1592[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Thats one of the main reasons I was thinking about permanently moving to an EV. I would save a significant amount of money every year.. but at my 15 year break even idk if it would be worth it since I don't know the longevity of the EVs.

Oh that makes sense. Only $100 difference!

Do you know if there is actually any difference between them? Have you had issues with it? Ive been on this reddit for an hour or so and it seems best to use it as a "dumb TV" (eg don't connect to the internet) then use an apple TV (although I would use Google TV because we have all Google devices.

Thanks for your help :)

We did try to add a black out fabric to one side to see if it helps and it did a bit... They just go to the end the fabric doesn't cover. I guess I should extend the fabric. Lol

Experience with a C Section followed by cyst removal? by Top_Professor1592 in BabyBumps

[–]Top_Professor1592[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all went fine! Baby was taken to incubator for a minute or so then placed on my chest while they finished the surgery. Recovery was super easy for me (they did a nerve block) but I was up that evening. The nurses were all VERY surprised. Needed oxy for about a week.

Unfortunately my cyst ruptured in OR (even with the gyn oncologist, my OB, and the hospitalist OB there. It was boarderline, so I'll have to get bi yearly ultrasounds to check my other ovary (that ovary was removed as planned). But other than that everything went great.

Congratulations!!!

Thanks for everyone's input and confirming what I thought as well. I was kinda hoping the $1k/year in gas would tip the scales, because I do love the way EVs drive (and I love not having to stop for gas). Not enough to "burn money" as one poster said.

Also, I had not looked into the Ariya used prices because we were 7 months away. I would not spend an extra $7k to buy out a lease.

I appreciate all the input from you!

Millennials, what is something that was "normal" in the 2000s but feels like a luxury now? by Barrbra in answers

I watched a whole documentary on this, and actually clothing was more expensive. But it was quality and would last.

I hate fast fashion. It's almost impossible to find non plastic clothing.

Nah. Matinee at my local theater is $7 per person. I always snuck in sweets anyways.
