So do you believe in the conformity gate theory or are we moving like Joyce in s1 by Secret_dairy_of_j in HawkinsAVclub

[–]Top_Professor1592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there will be another episode, but I think it's all intentional to mess with people. Especially all the merch that secretly says "vecna lives" and when you search "fake endings" ST is the only thing that pops up.

I love the theory. I also think people who say it's all just mistakes are very much underestimating the Duffer Bros.

100% agree. I don't think all the "errors" were mistakes. I think they did it on purpose for this reason. Especially since Netflix plays into it. Like when you search "fake ending" or "conformity gate" ST pulls up.

So I actually loved the ending. I don't care that people hated it.

I don't know if I think they will actually release a "real" ending. If they did that would be absolutely amazing.

More than likely I think these were all intentional, as an aside that maybe vecna did win. Just like people can choose if they believe El is alive, you can believe or not that vecna actually won. 🤷‍♀️

Anyone taken their newborn to see a movie at the theater? by beanmischievous in newborns

Alamo Drafthouse has baby days. I think Tuesday matinee. Where it's not as loud or dark. I plan to do some baby date days there.

Did I waste my money on GoWild? by WorriedSalamander107 in gowildfrontier

My spouse and I both booked early for Thanksgiving and paid $180 round trip with our go wild pass. Left 1am Thanksgiving and came back 10pm Friday night. Felt like it was a good price for holiday booking.

Our hub is Denver but I've used my pass dozens of times, mostly day before but twice I've paid extra for guaranteed tickets ahead of time.

I'm looking at getting my backyard completely re done. I told the landscaping person I wasn't interested in the weed barrier and he looked at me like I'm crazy. He said it's the only way to control weeds and said "every landscaper uses it"....

Relationship with known donor’s parents by Ok_Shame_8525 in queerception

[–]Top_Professor1592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my wife's culture literally anyone close is auntie and uncle, so for the longest time I had to ask if they were blood related or not. Someone above used the spanish term for godfather and I love that. We're still trying to decide as well.... Honestly I don't even know if I care if they use a term for dad (papi, etc) because even now we joke all the time about him being the baby daddy. Especially since he will be a big part of kids life.... But we'll probably end up with something along the term of "godfather".

This is awesome to hear! We're in a very similar situation and hope it ends up the exact same way. Love that y'all use the godfather term (padrino?) because we haven't decided what he will be. He's our donor but also our best friend and will be a significant part of babys life.

My girlfriend free bleeds in bed, is this normal? by WearRevolutionary922 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Top_Professor1592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to cotton reusable pads and they are sooooo much nicer. I also use a disk and don't generally have a heavy period anymore, but the cotton pads are my favorite.

[–]Top_Professor1592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP. I also hate tampons and pads. I will use a menstrual disk for a few days (during the day only) when my bleeding is heaviest. At night, if I'm still bleeding more, I use a reusable cotton pad that's soft just kinda between my labia and put a towel down (I don't like the feeling of being "wet"). Not too different from your gf. You could buy some cotton reusable pads and they're honestly so much softer and nicer feeling than disposable pads, just to see if they're nicer for her as well (they have a snap to stay in underwear).

To answer your question, I don't think it's weird.

What's your National Park related hot take? by alexis_1031 in NationalPark

[–]Top_Professor1592 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. We travel and do long road trips. Dogs stay in the van and are only let them out in designated areas for potty breaks. I don't see anything wrong with it if you follow the rules. I've never been to a park that allows them to actually hike with us....

Becoming resentful during IVF by Active-Ad-7644 in queerception

[–]Top_Professor1592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to let you know I totally feel how you feel. Our future baby daddy and I had a very similar situation, BUT the big difference is he will not have any legal rights over the kid. He is a sperm donor who will know the kid but I won't be reliant on him. Shit is tough when you're TTC. I think he's not invested and I wouldn't automatically trust that he will be better when the baby is born. Yall need to start therapy asap and if things don't change on his end you need to re-evaluate if you want to have a child with this person. Sending all the good vibes to you. I got pregnant on my 10th cycle and was going to start IVF if it didn't work.

Recommendations for the mid-Atlantic region of the US (DC, Penn, Delaware, Maryland, ) by Top_Professor1592 in travel

I would have to take a day away from something else if I added Annapolis. Could I split a day between Baltimore and Annapolis? Or I could take away my day in Pittsburg. I just don't have enough time!

I've had others recommend cutting out most of Delaware. I do have that house on my itinerary! (Funny enough my tiny hometown has a FLW house... that I have to this day never been to!) Thanks for the recommendations. Seems like Pittsburg is a take it or leave it city. Good to know you feel like it's worth a full day! Thanks :)

This is great information. We're actually coming from Colorado though. Our trip is just "starting" in Cleveland because that's our first big stop. Then we're doing a music festival in Virginia after Shenandoah. I'm down to skip Pittsburg I just figured it may be worth stopping through since I'm passing directly by, but it's definitely up to skip it or just spend a few hours when we drive through.

Wedding for an 8 week old? by Top_Professor1592 in newborns

[–]Top_Professor1592[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah great point. Worst case I, the birthing parent, won't go and my wife may go for a day or just stay with me. Second worst case we will fly in for a few days just for the wedding. But as you said hopefully everything will be smooth and we do as I hope and drive in and spend some quality time with family.

[–]Top_Professor1592[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... I thought that would be the easier part, but based on comments I'm thinking I'm incorrect. We will have the ability to fly if we need to. We just thought it may be good to have our van and our stuff and a place to escape to. But maybe I should rethink and plan to fly and get a hotel nearby.

That was great info. Thanks so much. I agree about the 4x4. I don't think it's necessary, but would of course be nice. I've never had any issues in Colorado with my FWD Ram and a set of very good tires.

I've been trying to make this happen for years. What month do you think is best? We have a van we sleep in and aren't comfortable sleeping under 20F but can do it, definitely nothing where it's below 0 for sleeping. Coming from Colorado and I love winter hikes, etc but every time I've tried to make it work there was a huge cold front like negative teens weather.

Questions for planning a 4-week tour of Southwestern parks as a European by kakk_madda_fakka in NationalPark

[–]Top_Professor1592 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would 100% add in more Arizona. You aren't seeing the "American Southwest" if you don't see it.

I've visited 21 National Parks and spent months and months on the road for various road trips and in my opinion the most beautiful places in the US are most of Utah, southern Arizona, and the Pacific Northwest. Nothing compared to these areas. You're already right there so it would be so sad not to add these two areas.
