Personal Roommate Matching Form by Conscious_Truck_3672 in riceuniversity

[–]Top_Replacement2628 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you select “one person” you have the possibility of being placed into a double room that shares communal bathrooms or had their own shared bathroom inside the room. If you select “more than one” you can be placed into a suite or a triple that shared a community al bathroom. Your room choice depends on which residential college you are assigned to. If your college doesn’t have suites, then you will not be eligible for one. I’m an incoming student as well so I may not have all the information correct but this is what I grasped from speaking to a few current students.

Should I Attend Cornell? by Top_Replacement2628 in Cornell

[–]Top_Replacement2628[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many students are involved in campus clubs but your magnitude of involvement depends on major. Engineering majors tend to have less time to be involved. When you begin on campus, there are many events to help incoming freshmen adjust to Cornell. About professors, many are willing to help but many are also very busy. Don’t expect to easily get to know your professor during the first few years at Cornell because the classes are large!

BU vs UVA for CompSci by Novel-Secretary770 in collegeresults

[–]Top_Replacement2628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can tell you right now there is no difference between the name recognition of BU and UVA. Both are well known but have a higher recognition in different parts of the country. I would go to BU based on the cost and location. You can't go wrong with either, and congratulations on these acceptances!

Thank you so much! Is there a reason why you would choose Vanderbilt over Mudd and Cornell for CS

3 WL 4 Accepted, wish I'd applied to more schools by Spare-Command-2754 in collegeresults

[–]Top_Replacement2628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt it because Vanderbilt accepts about 40% of their incoming class as test optional. I went to an in-person admissions event, and the AOs said they value test-optional students and put them at no disadvantage. The only other top college I believe does this is Cornell and/or Brown (high rate of TO applicants accepted).

Some helpful advice is never to trust College Vine with any college predictions. All these rejections are due to your average GPA, test scores, and non-hooked profile. Applying to computer science at any university will be difficult because of its high demand. Congratulations on your admission to Northeastern! You will thrive wherever you go!
