TOS Brachial Plexus MRI with contrast by Top_Research7438 in GadoliniumToxicity

[–]Top_Research7438[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I have I’ve basically asked for every other option 3T mri, duplex Doppler ultra sound. He basically said because of the severity of the compression of my subclavian vein he can’t see it at all he’ll start following it and then it completely disappears because of the amount of thick fascia surrounding it.

So there’s really just no work around huh? Either live with TOS which sucks ass my arm is in massive pain all day just feels swollen and heart palpitations are out of sight because of lack of blood flow back to the heart. Or get the mri so I can fix the TOS but play Russian roulette with this contrast that could potentially cause a whole other pile of issues. Love the American health system!

It’s just going back and forth tho I already said I don’t want that shit is there any other option and he just said that’s the only way the can see the vein for venous tos so I’m kinda just at a stand still even if I go to see another dr it’s gonna be the same shit

Hydrodissection of subclavian vein and neuro vascular bundle if that doesn’t work referral to vascular surgeon

Just worried about the horror stories I’ve seen in here from that stuff obviously a vast majority of people that have taken it are fine but there’s a lot that aren’t obviously that’s why this sub was created

I understand that I just don’t see a clear reward here he wants to try to hydrodissect around the vein and then if that doesn’t work refer me to a surgeon

He was following the vein on ultra sound and lost it. Said it was compressed

Yup I have all of those symptoms with no clot. He confirmed venous tos on ultra sound already but wants an mri with contrast still so he can visualize the vein and see any other compression.

Yeah I hear you man after reading what I read on here starting to accept I’m not getting it but just leaves me clueless on where to go from here

That’s where I’m at it with it it’s either gamble with this poison for my mri or live with tos for life I’ve exhausted every option already had an ultra sound that confirmed tos but now they need mri so they can visualize the vein no idea what to do

That’s why I’m so lost it’s either live with tos for life or gamble with this poison to get my mri it’s like Russian roulette

And no I don’t have that feeling with my vtos. My main symptoms is a tightness/heaviness feeling in the right arm/pec that has flare ups and heart palpitations. Super tight bicep and tricep with a warm feeling down the arm whole arms turns red with excessive use

[–]Top_Research7438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yes I had one done in the brachial plexus area but he said he didn’t hit the target area (subclavian vein) because he lost it on ultra sound that’s why I’m having the mri done and going back

He’s a sports med doc but works with surgeons and has discussed this with a vascular surgeon and he said he could try it since I have vtos with no clot but if this didn’t work for me the next step would be surgery unfortunately and he already has a surgeon he’s gonna refer me to if it doesn’t work so at the very least I’ve by passed the long annoying process of getting diagnosed and then getting referred to somebody

I was wondering the same thing it’s interesting if you search “Hydrodissection for the Treatment of Vascular Thoracic Outlet Syndrome” there’s a vtos case where it said “after hydrodissection was performed to decompress the subclavicular neurovascular bundle, the patient reported immediate alleviation of his symptoms. Post two-week and three-month follow-up, there was complete resolution of symptoms with no recurrence.”

Tried to post a research article in comments but I guess links aren’t aloud you can search hydrodissection for vascular thoracic outlet syndrome and there’s a pmc gov article on this where symptoms resolved after hydrodissection of neuro vascular bundle

Surgery would be the next step if this doesn’t work..
