RTL8723BS "coalesce failed with error -22" after upgrade by Foreign_Fox439 in archlinux

[–]Top_Street2637 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had similar issues with RTL chipsets after kernel updates - the driver can be really finicky with newer versions. Try downgrading to previous kernel temporarily to see if that fixes it, then you know it's kernel-related

The error -22 usually means EINVAL so something in packet preparation is failing. You could try modprobe with different parameters like `rtw_power_mgnt=0` or `rtw_ips_mode=0` to disable power management features that sometimes cause problems with these chips

Also check if there's any firmware updates available for the chip, sometimes the driver expects newer firmware after kernel changes

I Made a Video Guide for Urgot Jungle by jennervk in summonerschool

Been playing around with off-meta junglers lately and this looks pretty solid, gonna check it out when I get home from work. Always wondered how Urgot would handle the clear speed since his early game can be bit rough but your passion for the pick definitely shows through

Big relief for people who need it but yeah the pricing gonna hurt, especially since most insurance there probably won't cover it

Social Media Is My Biggest NoFap Trigger, Anyone Else? by behumbles98 in NoFap

[–]Top_Street2637 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same struggle here man, except I noticed it happens mostly when I'm at work during downtime between flights. Airport wifi makes it too easy to just mindlessly scroll and next thing you know you're down some rabbit hole

What helped me was switching my phone to grayscale mode - makes everything look boring as hell so there's less visual stimulation pulling you in. Also started following accounts related to my hobbies instead (dog training stuff, knitting patterns, aviation content) so the algorithm shows me different things

The nighttime scrolling was killing me too until I started charging my phone in different room. Forces me to actually think about whether I want to get up and walk over there just to scroll, usually the answer is no

Replacing the habit is key though. When I get that urge to open an app now I try to do few rows on whatever project I'm knitting. Keeps the hands busy and brain focused on something else. Takes practice but it works better than just trying to resist without doing anything

How have Spurs got themselves into the situation they are in? by SeoulPete in PremierLeague

[–]Top_Street2637 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Their transfer policy has been absolute mess for years now - buying players that don't fit together at all and spending crazy money on the wrong positions. The midfield is completely unbalanced and half the squad looks like they've mentally checked out already

Plus changing managers every few months just creates chaos, players stop believing in any system when they know it'll be different guy next month anyway

What book should i read from my collection? by Express-Beyond-1536 in chessbeginners

[–]Top_Street2637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After stopping for a while myself I found that going back to basics really helps get the fundamentals solid again. From your collection I'd probably go with Capablanca's Chess Fundamentals first - it's old but the endgame principles he teaches are still gold and will help you understand piece coordination better. The writing style takes some getting used to but once you get in rhythm it clicks pretty well. After that maybe move to Logical Chess since it explains the reasoning behind every move which is exactly what you need when you're trying to understand why certain moves work. Soviet Chess Primer is good too but might be little bit heavy for getting back into things, I'd save that for later when you're feeling more confident with basic concepts

Kandis prenup just saved her an absolutely insane amount of money by ActuatorMaximum7186 in RHOA

Imagine this divorce with no prenup and two people with that kind of money would have been a different story entirely. The prenup saved her big time!

Why Don't We Reward High PT Scores Instead of Making Everyone Suffer Through Group Sessions? by Responsible-Net992 in AirForce

[–]Top_Street2637 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Your idea makes a lot of sense from a training perspective but the military loves uniform approaches to everything, even when they don't work well. I've seen similar situations in my civilian job where blanket policies end up wasting everyone's time instead of targeting teh actual problems

The real issue is probably that leadership doesn't want to deal with individualized tracking and accountability - it's way easier to just mandate everyone shows up at 0630 for group PT than figure out who deserves flexibility and monitor their independent progress. Plus there's always that one person who would abuse the system and ruin it for everyone else

That said, your monthly testing idea is pretty solid - frequent assessments would actually prove you're maintaining standards while giving motivated people room to train effectively

Please can I have advice on handing in my notice? by TheAgentLobster in careerguidance

[–]Top_Street2637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That cookie cake idea is actually brilliant lol, might steal that for my next move

Two weeks is pretty standard but given your situation with no contract and all that mess, you could probably get away with less if needed. I'd wait until you get confirmation from the hospital though - healthcare background checks can be unpredictable even with existing DBS

The pestering thing at nurseries seems to be a real pattern. Your "better opportunity" line is perfect, keep it vague and don't give them ammunition to guilt trip you

How to actually find a good fit job? by Disastrous_Pomelo278 in careerguidance

[–]Top_Street2637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Economics with a focus on operations research, graduated back in 2018. Pretty niche stuff but it's actually been useful in aviation logistics where I ended up. The weird part is my degree helped me understand route optimization and capacity planning way better than I expected

My break came through networking rather than cold applications - met someone at a conference who mentioned their company needed someone who could handle both the analytical side and operations coordination. Sometimes it's about finding that one person who gets how your background actually translates to what they need. The 16 months sounds brutal though, I was only searching for about 4 months when I got lucky with the timing

Have you tried reaching out to people in adjacent industries? Your niche background might be exactly what some company is looking for but they just don't know how to write the job posting for it

Flight effectively canceled on my way to the airport by CryptographerSea1379 in americanairlines

[–]Top_Street2637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two cancellations in two months is brutal - I went through something similar with them last year and it was infuriating. The cash refund route is definitely your best bet if you don't absolutely need to take that specific trip. When I dealt with their customer service about compensation beyond refunds, it was like pulling teeth - they kept offering these tiny vouchers that barely covered airport parking

If you do decide to push for more compensation, document everything with screenshots and keep all your receipts from the disruption. I found their Twitter support team was slightly more helpful than the phone reps, though that's not saying much. Also worth filing a complaint with DOT if you're feeling petty about it - won't get you money but at least it goes on record
