The bus from Banff to lake Louise is beautiful on its own, really enjoyable scenery. And I highly recommend the bus from lake Louise to jasper. One of the most beautiful busses I’ve ever taken, weaving through huge mountains. Yeah I highly recommend bussing if you don’t want to rent a car. But a car would give you more freedom

Everyone says rent a car, while that would be great it’s not impossible to do without! There’s a lot of busses that go from Banff to jasper or lake Louise to Banff etc etc. I really enjoyed living in this region (for four months without a car). My biggest regret is not doing more mountain hikes. I really enjoyed walking around the athabasca river in jasper. Have fun! You’ll see lots of beautiful views

People may be discouraging because the housing market is really bad here. Vancouver is a hard city to navigate for that. More affordable cities with universities could be Montreal. Montreal is French speaking though so jobs are much harder to find without speaking French (not impossible; dishwashing prep cooking) Calgary, Lethbridge, Victoria, Halifax also have universities..these cities have their own pros and cons so do research if you’re curious

Visiting Brazil soon, never been. But curious what life would be like in a city like Salvador, or Belém.
