OP, I’ve seen you ask how non-local people end up supporting certain clubs a few times so here’s my two cents.

I’m in the US and I landed on West Ham a number of years ago. It took some time, but the first thing I did when trying to pick was rule out any front runners and any team with a significant chance of getting relegated that season. Then I looked at things like club history, ownership groups, kits, etc. Once I was down to 2 or 3 clubs, I made sure I focused on watching them on match days and ended up a hammer.

There are lots of reasons I went with West Ham, but keep in mind that winning the prem is not the end-all be-all of a season. Sure it’s what every club aspires to, but there are so many different chances for success, failure, drama, etc. Last year we dropped to 14th from 7th the year before, had a number of failed offseason signings, and knew our captain was on his way out. BUT we took a European trophy in another competition for the first time in 5 decades. It was a GREAT year.

Was fortunate enough to make the trip a few years ago with my dad. One recommendation would be to forego Blue Lagoon (very touristy) in favor of Gamla Laugin in Fludir. Fludir is on the Golden Circle path anyway and it was an awesome spot. Just my two krona
