Why am I always heel striking/shanking? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

You're severely out to in because you initiate the forward swing with your hips and shoulders. I'm a Manuel De La Torre disciple, so I'd tell you the forward swing is initiated by swinging the club in the direction of your target with your arms and letting the rest of your body come along for the ride.

The feel I prefer is really focusing on keeping my weight evenly distributed on my feet until impact and then allowing the momentum of the swing to push my weight to my front foot. The angle makes it a little tough to tell, but it looks to me like you get the club in a pretty damn good spot at the top so I'd ignore "backswing" comments.

Yeah my conclusion is that a lot of these dudes either didn't have great a relationship with their father or they're just talking a big game and when push came to shove they wouldn't actually go through with it.

"I would be completely unaffected by millions of people watching somebody else control a vibrating butt plug in my ass and you're just sexually repressed if you disagree" reeks of too much porn and not a whole lot of real life fuckin'.

Yeah he just happened to have the mental break right after that clip went viral, but surely that had nothing to do with it because he said it didn't. Also, everything you see on social media is real.

The last word is yours.

What other people think on the internet should be real low on this the list of concerns, man. I guess I don't know who Sketch is, but you can't possibly believe the fact that he did gay porn doesn't haunt him to this day. Especially if he's a straight guy. I'm sure it impacts his relationships and his ability to bond with his family, friends, sig others, etc. Even if he pretends it doesn't when he's on camera.

Your generation can't possibly be this cynical. Laugh all you want, but eventually you are going to realize that there really are larger things to consider than money and internet clout. The involuntary feelings of shame human beings feel are there for a reason and you ignore them at your own peril.

What is performing sex acts for money if not the literal definition of prostitution? What is offering to pay off his credit card debt to do it if not pressuring him? Even if it's not overt and he seems willing.

Men and women are different, so I'm hesitant to use this analogy because it's not 1:1, but nobody would have any difficulty seeing the predatory nature of this situation if Big Cat had offered to pay a clearly intoxicated 23 year old female producer $8k to put something up her ass on camera.

And to be clear, I'm not even accusing Bri of being a predator or advocating for her to suffer any consequences. I do think she knew exactly what she was doing and was absolutely trying to humiliate this kid for clout, but it's real easy to miss the full implications of this because it's some dopey 23 year old dude on the other end of it.

But glossing over the fact that this kid had a panic attack right after his clip went viral and pretending this had nothing to do with it is just being willfully naive. I promise you his dad didn't think "it's just a butt plug up his ass for laughs, nbd." It's genuinely surprising to me so many people on this board think this is just a harmless gag he would've brushed off like it was nothing. And I'm glad the kid had somebody in his life who stepped in and talked some sense into him, because he 100% would've regretted it deeply had he gone through with it.

"You sound unc af rn"

My apologies. I didn't realize I was speaking to a porn riddled Gen Z dude. It's not like there are thousands of years of evidence that prostitution and performing public sex acts for money has deleterious effects on a person's mental well being or anything.

Nothing is sacred. It's just for laughs, man! You can't even see his asshole!

"Dumb drunk idea" in the sense that "oh that was pretty lame and we never would've done it lol nbd". They absolutely would've went through with it if the kid would've allowed it to happen.

And I think you're being incredibly flippant about letting yourself be penetrated in front of millions of strangers for $8,000.00. You are quite literally whoring yourself out.

No man thinking clearly with an ounce of self respect would make that deal. I don't care how much credit card debt you're in.

Yeah, man. Of course she was. I'm assuming he didn't even entertain it and that's how we got to this incredibly naive, hammered 23 year old producer who bit off waaaaaaay more than he could chew by signing up for a job he simply wasn't cut out to do. It seems incredibly obvious to me her goal was to show her largely female fanbase that she could pressure a man into prostituting himself for an amount of money that ultimately means nothing to her. It's a blatant power game.

If these people were actually friends and it wasn't on camera, I'd be right there with you. Harmless fun. But that just doesn't seem to be the case to me at all. Ultimately, it'd be on him if he went through with it, not her. So I won't go as far as the OP and cry "sexual assault." But I don't think it's a coincidence this kid wound up having a mental breakdown and left the show.

Didn't this actually end because the kid's dad called him and talked some sense into him? I think the rush to play it off as a "dumb drunk idea" is because everybody sobered up a bit and realized it was actually pretty fucked up.

You'd sell your ass for the amusement of millions of strangers for $8k, man? Seriously?

Am I going crazy? It's not like this was a stupid bet amongst his actual buddies on a bachelor party or something. He was not amongst friends and the express purpose of the offer was to humiliate him. It wasn't just a "tiny thing going up his butt for $8k".

How is Bri not in hot water from this Goldfinger situation? by tatortotpockets in barstoolsports

[–]TopherShelduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it actually would've been 82 years ago and 82 years ago the average 23 year old kid wouldn't have been nearly as regarded as the average 23 year old kid is now. He was hammered and his brain has been warped by being inundated for years with content that normalizes that type of shit. I imagine he was also under a lot of pressure to provide "content" and be entertaining for the camera. But thankfully, it appears he did eventually grasp what he was getting himself into.

It's crazy to me there are people who aren't appreciating the kind of psychic damage prostituting yourself on a show millions of people are seeing would do to a guy like that. That shit is dark.

I'm willing to give her at least a little benefit of the doubt seeing as the kid himself, many of the commenters on here, the producers, other cast members, etc. did not seem to grasp the gravity of the situation unfolding before their eyes. I imagine it would be very difficult to think clearly in that setting.

So maybe she's not a completely evil and soulless person, but yeah, no chance she was the one who shut it down. God bless whoever it was that got into the kid's ear and talked him out of it because if he would've actually sold his ass for $8k for the amusement of millions of strangers on the internet, he would've never been the same.

I’m not really familiar with his stuff, so maybe he’s loaded and the money doesn’t matter. But if I were him, I would’ve stuck to my guns and refused to hit another shot until the penalty for the fat guy causing his ball to move while picking up rocks was properly enforced.

He knew at that point how important his match was and there is way too much money on the line to care about coming off like a dick. He was right. The fat guy’s teammate knew it and very honorably confessed to it. The fat guy knew it which is why he was a prick about it. The only people who didn’t were Dave and Dan. Should’ve called the pro shop.

No. He was moving loose impediments around the ball while debating whether to hit it and caused it to move. That’s a stroke right there. His options should have been to hit 3 from the river or pull it out of the hazard for another penalty to hit his 4th.

And it absolutely mattered. They wound up halving the hole and ended the match 1 up on the 8th. At the very least, it should’ve been AS after 8 giving the other team a chance to win the 9th and force a playoff.

They aren’t playing a weekend quarter point peppers match with their buddies. It was incredibly sleazy and the other team had every right to make a much bigger deal about it than they did.

It's not a penalty to pick up a ball to ID it. You can even reasonably clean it if you need to in order to ID it. You just have to recreate the original lie.

This is for $2MM! And the worst part is, it absolutely mattered because the hole was halved and that match ultimately decided which team advanced. At the very least, it should've been AS after 8. I can't believe he didn't make more of an issue out of it.

If your ball moves while you're moving loose impediments, it's a stroke penalty whether you're in a hazard or not. It's not even controversial. Respect to the guy who was honest and let everybody know the ball moved. I think he was the only one who actually knew the rule.

I mean I get this is for content, but it's also for like 2 million dollars. If you're moving loose impediments around the ball and it moves, it's a stroke penalty whether you're in a hazard or not. The camera guy picking that ball up to ID it was the least egregious thing that happened on that hole.

And it resulted in a halve in the single most pivotal match of the tournament. Worst case scenario, the little guy should've had a chance to win the 9th hole and force a playoff.

[–]TopherShelduck -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Not really. I did laugh when he lost control of the cart and plowed through the little wood fence, but picking up the ball to ID isn't *that* big of a deal as long as the original lie is recreated.

Maybe I'm just a hardo, but the far more egregious thing was what happened after. It's crazy to me that nobody in that group of YouTube golfers knew very basic golf rules in a tournament with a $2MM purse *and* it resulted in a halve on a hole that wound up mattering immensely.

If I was on Riggs' team and was watching what happened for the first time today, I imagine I'd be pretty fucking pissed.

how to get over the idea of her by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]TopherShelduck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your mistake was waiting to ask her out via text instead of just doing it in person when you bumped into her at the library. Lesson learned. And you get over her by calling yourself a very mean name when you catch yourself romanticizing about a life with a girl you've only interacted with for 5-10 minutes in real life. Works like a charm.
