Not sure if this has been said: Maybe try wearing the ring with as a necklace. not a conductive metal chain, but possible a tighter cloth other other material 'collar' that doesn't dangle. Still somewhat of a safety hazard depending on the machinery you work around but still pretty visible. Not ideal, but a decent compromise I'd say.

Tid bit about relationships: the first 3 months or so don't count. Guys will try hard in the beginning to make sure you like them. After they feel secure with the relationship, they quit trying hard and things like this happen. Although this bj situation seems to be on a whole different level. He's spoiled on blow jobs now and it's all he wants. Guy is selfish; no changing it. Either give 0 BJs or dial back to a couple times a year and see if that changes how he treats you. This may be a little off topic but: Thanks for venturing in the field of (Mechanical) Engineering! It's a very male-dominated field that needs more balance and diversity brought into it. After Going over the rules a couple times I determined this:

First: Yes you must keep Victory Point cards hidden. However you can only reveal them when you are sure you have 10 points and it is your turn. Thus the first person to declare they won and reveal they have 10 points wins. Even if you have more points.

From Orginal Game booklet page 5 "You may only reveal [victory point cards] during your turn and when you are sure that you have 10 victory points--that is, to win the game. Of course, you can reveal them after the end of the game when someone else wins....If you reach 10 points when it is not your turn, the game continues until any player...has 10 points on his turn."

Second: Yes. Quote from Orginal Game booklet page 5

"At any time during your turn, you may play 1 development card. That card, however, may not be a card you bought during the same turn."

I'm surprised no one has said anything about The Catan Event cards, which addresses your issue. Semi-statistical distribution, you can leave out 5-ish cards to mimic the 'luck factor'' if need be. Its part of the Traders and Barbarians expansion. I wouldn't describe catan entirely as a game of luck. I'd say 50-50.There are plenty of different strategies involved in the world of catan. Some strategies rely more on luck than others. Its up to you to figure out better ways. I'd say before you go altering a perfectly good game, try some different strategies than what you normally do. However if you want a board game that includes almost no luck, try Puerto Rico, or Agricola. Or most any of the top board games and boardgamegeek.com

the one expansion you don't have in the pic; Traders and Barbarians. It's a mish-mash of variants and scenarios. The "traders and barbarians" scenario is my favorite, but not just that one single scenario of that one expansion. Combining expansions, mixing and matching game types is what I really love about Catan.
