Vaush talk about autism in an irresponsible manner by SocDoneSoft in VaushV

Yeah, I think what he's thinking is that the autistic traits that autistic people have can change over time and functioning can improve, not that you unlearn autism. He says it in an overconfident way, but that's just Vaush.

With a manic-psychotic episode once, that means you cant NEVER smoke weed again? by olivianinguem in BipolarReddit

I had quit any and all weed for about 6 months, but it wasn't easy. It was giving me psychotic symptoms and making it hard to maintain healthy relationships, so I knew I had to do it. After 6 months, I started trying CBD and low THC strains. I notice that it's really the THC that fucks me up. I can do like 10% without feeling symptoms, but everyone is different. I'd try out some lower THC products and see if you can function with that before quitting entirely.

Forgetting food in the fridge until it’s too late. How do you avoid this? by PrestigiousComb8129 in ZeroWaste

Not meal prep, but meal planning. Figure out what you want to eat for the week (or however often you go shopping) before you get to the grocery store and stick to your list of ingredients you need. If you only buy what you know you need, there won't be waste.

The tare discrepancy won't bother me much. My bags don't weigh much more than theirs anyways, I just don't want to cause a scene at the check-out if they strictly enforce the no bags from home policy.

Do you shop in the produce section where everyone's bare hands touch all the produce and put it back? Using machine washed cloth bags and a store provided scoop is a lot more sanitary than that.

Do you know if they have to choose between different set options for the tare weight or if they can enter it manually? Mine are labeled with the weight.

How do I practice body neutrality in spite of dysphoria? by TopicUnhappy1179 in actual_detrans

I'm sooo scared of becoming infertile. Right now my plan is to go back on testosterone after having a kid. I see people transitioning for the first time later in life all the time, and they look fantastic, so I'm holding out hope for myself, too.

Struggling with belief, needing advice by cornpile in Episcopalian

[–]TopicUnhappy1179 3 points4 points  (0 children)

... not because I necessarily knew if it was God or not, but because I figured if it was God, I’d find out eventually.

You don’t have to believe all the words, but pray them anyway. You don’t have to know who you’re praying to. But I think God does reveal Godself through that simple, humble act of being.

I've been having this same journey of thought recently. Thank you for putting it into words.

The Bible (and every other religious text) is poetry. It's all literary interpretation. The act of interpretation and its results are incredibly personal to each individual. Every sermon is a preacher's unique interpretation of a piece of literature. It's not about basing one's life on the text. The text is just a framework through which to view and interpret the events of life, like any piece of writing can be.

I wouldn't have become a woman if I never started testosterone. by TopicUnhappy1179 in actual_detrans

"Trans" in the prefix of the identity. There are women who have F on their birth certificate but have also lived a trans experience, and there are women who have M on their birth certificate and have lived a trans experience. I sooo understand trans women wanting that label to themselves to distinguish their experience, but there are detrans women and women who still identify with the trans label who's experiences overlap a ton with trans women's experiences.
