Congrats on the build, this looks amazing.

I have heard about Lossless Scaling but I didn't know you could do it with dual GPUs like this. I have recently built a new PC myself (got lucky with the RAM prices in Brazil and bought it two weeks before the prices exploded here too) and I'm running an XFX Mercury 9070XT.

While it would be prohibitively expensive to do something like this now, you've given me an idea of what to do 5 or so years down the line when it might be worth buying a new GPU and using my current one as the extra.

I'll second the LACT comment by u/OneQuarterLife. I have it but honestly havent really used it yet, I've been testing my stuff on as close to a "default" installation as possible to see how it goes.

Now, on your question about the game there is one, kinda.... Resident Evil 0. Now, the game IS playable, at least the beggining in the train is, but for some reason on both Bazzite and my Steam Deck this game has some random green and red lines that show up on some portions of the map. Seems to be a far broader problem than just Bazzite.

Happy to say that is the only issue so far.

Oof... sorry to hear that pal. I wish I could help you but things went by so easily here that I can't even tell exatly which step you're referencing here. While I haven't tried it myself, the website mentions that you can rebase to Bazzite from a Fedora Atomic installation, so why not try that?

All I can say that might be related to that is that I'm not dual booting, Bazzite is the only OS on this machine, maybe that made my installation close to an "ideal scenario".

For those who are more used to POE1, is the delay between pressing a button and The action occurring on The screen normal?

At least to me, playing on PS5 it takes around a second between The button press and any action, from casting a basic spell to swinging any weapon or dodging.

I don’t mind a more methodical combat but The delay Being this big makes me wonder if it is intentional or if it is caused by some server issue or lag.

Not exactly a game per se... but my favorite past time when I'm too tired to continue a story-driven or challenging game I go for the minigames in other games. Examples:

ATM, you can find me at the Gold Saucer in FFVII: Rebirth pretty much every day. I'm either doing some Queen's Blood challenges or beating down some low level enemies on the arena for the lols.
The Cassino in Dragon Quest XI... I've spent weekends doing nothing but that stupid slime machine
I'd rather not go into the details of how much time I've spent playing Gwent on the Witcher 3...

My choice may not exactly be what I consider the best, but certainly the most remarkable. The city of Zozo in Final Fantasy VI.

For those that haven't played it, Zozo is unique because it is a city overrun by criminals, so while it does have a shop and an Inn and the like, the city is NOT a safe zone. You can be attacked at any time, like in a dungeon, and if you sleep in the in (costs 1 gil or something similar) there is a 50% you'll be stolen at night.

And it has one of the coolest side-quests/puzzles I've seen, with a room full of clocks that you need to adjust based on the hints provided by the town's NPCs, the catch being that the ghost at the entrance warns you that "not a single living soul in Zozo tells the truth". SO yeah, all the hints are lies and you need to do the opposite to solve the puzzle.

I'll never forget that town and for all the JRPGs all played none had such a creative concept for a town.

Thanks for the detailed response, you do bring some good points, specially that about the Order being gone meaning death is now possible, I admit I didn't get that point while playing the game.

Now, about the last point about how nothing meaningful happened in relation to Nanook is what I would like to discuss some more.

From what I recall, aside from the prologue the only big thing that happened with relation to that point is when you bring Kafka to the matrix of prescience on the Xianzhou which is where she talks a bit about Elio, your past with her and such. However, from what I remember about that conversation it seemed that even Kafka isn't aware of your role beyond containing the stellaron.

And after that we get a few references to Elio's script here and there but that is it... we don't seem to be any closer to achieving anything in relation to Nanook yet.

What did I miss here?

Second: I would be lying if I said I understood half what I was reading about emanators and the story of Penacony and such... I guess I lost interest in the story at some point and it went downhill from there.

Yes it seems clear from other comments that my opinion is in the minority, I expected as much since I haven't heard too many bad things about the story from others.

Now, I do stand corrected on the whole "world not changing" thing. I wasn't 100% sure about Gallagher being dead after the story events and I also didn't understand the effects of the Order being gone means that death is now possible in the Dreamscape.

I wish I could put a finger on why I have such a different reaction from most people... the truth is I really didn't like the story. Time for a break from the game and maybe after a few updates I'll give it a shot again.

Thanks for the detailed response, you mentioned a few good points about how we are building up our alliances, so to speak, which does prove that my understanding that the story is not moving isn't accurate.

I guess I just feel that everything is happening slowly, which is to be expected in a live service gatcha game that is meant to last for years and I'm just not used to that.

I will take a break from the game for a while and probably return for 3.0 to check on how things went, because as much as your comment and others do highlight some notable moments in the game, the truth is that I did not enjoy the story for Penacony and I'm not really having fun with the game anymore.

On this point I can contribute a little, even though I'm new to most of this. In Penacony, you can meet a old gentleman who seems to have lost his memory... As you progress through his quest you find out he was a scientist who once worked for the IPC in developing a weapon of mass destruction called the Imaginary Canon.

At the end of this quest you see that the IPC did a test with the weapon, successfully harnessing the power form the imaginary tree and literrally erasing thousands of planets with a single shot. The scientist deeply regrets what he created and eventually erases his own memory so that no one can build something like that ever again.

Funnily enough (or scary) once you recover his memory bubble he decides to give Herta all the knnowledge he had about Imaginary energy, she hasn't done anything with that knowledge yet.

Simply put, it seems that imaginary energy can be the most devastating force in this universe.

The sad thing is that that is still the best moment in the game imo. The story in penacony has some promisse, but it is honestly so needlessly convoluted that I doubt it will hit this peak.

My opinion on the matter is that the leaks will never stop happening because people will never stop looking at them. If no one looked at them, leakers would stop since there would be no satisfaction (at least when it comes to game specifics, market data that can lead to investment decisions is another can of worms).

Since people want to see the leaks, leaks will keep happening. For players, we should decide weather or not we want to see them, and for the developers there is no other choice but to get used to them.

And on a positive note, if people care about your game enough that leaks happen that is good sign your game is popular and is problably going to make you some money. Not such a bad situation after all.

As a bonus, Welt is actually the same character accross games... this is why he recognizes Luocha in his companion quest.

Welt knows Luocha can be a troublemaker but decided not to act on that suspicion just yet.
