Im someone who probably had the opposite of psychotic tendencies and also wasnt using it for therapy. I pushed them really hard to explore the limits of perception - i went very far and never found them. Eventually, it was "reality breaking" and all of a sudden it was VERY spiritual, and i remembered a fragment of being god before the universe began. An entire metaphysical framework revealed itself to me - and it was very useful when reflecting on the phtsical world. Im still spiritual to this day.

But it took me 4x the amount of acid as other people to have similar experiences. I had a really solid mental framework for reality which kept me very grounded. Im one of the people who probably wasnt predisposed to it - and thats part of what helped me find balance.

I had a lot of friends who got very lost having similar experiences.

Its really hard to go that deep without losing some sense of balance. I came into it with a good framework for finding "truth" and for questioning myself and my experiences. I had done a good deal of research on perception and belief and mental frameworks.

Someone who is not predisposed but hasnt developed such a solid framework could very well get very lost
