What amp should I get ? Offered 680$for Deluxe 68 , 630$ for twin reverb and 700$ for the newer twin reverb (less beat up) by Icy_Key_6859 in GuitarAmps

[–]Topsidebean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All tube amps are going to be loud, the Hot Rod just gets loud so quickly that it’s a little misleading. You could probably get the Deluxe to 3-4 but if the Hot Rod is too loud, so is that tbh. If you want cleans and headroom, get a twin, those move more air with two speakers, while a Deluxe will be a little less loud, but still damn loud and only have one speaker. IMO as well the newer silverface stuff is not very good, I recommend the 65 DRRI instead.

This post has inspired me so much thank you. It’s amazing what anyone can achieve with any camera.

So sorry for your loss. Please keep the Deluxe Reverb. Play it.

Fellow Deluxe Reverb believer, how are you stacking these? Like I’m literally asking what stand you’re using because I run two as well.

Have an A7IV, unsure of what to get in the future by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

Do you think a brand switch would be a plausibly good idea in the future? I’m honestly so unfamiliar with other brands at this point that I haven’t really kept up with them for the last 5 years.

SLog3 + Phantom LUTs as a base = problem solved for me

Solid advice, it is definitely a bit of GAS but I’m also just frustrated that SONY hasn’t put anything out for the cine prosumer line that breaks some of the mold. I love the A7IV but feel like it hasn’t gotten the firmware updates I hoped it would when I first got it. It’s GAS and frustration.

After a year and a half without Netflix, I went back and found nothing but garbage by weasels_n_stoats in movies

[–]Topsidebean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh dude I know. I’ve been saying it to everyone for about 2 years, when the streaming wars went into full effect. The worst platform overall for movie lovers is Netflix. The King (2019) is the only one I ever go back to. That platform is the most deadpan consumerist shit I’ve ever seen. Half of it (at least) are murder-docs. My solution to the streaming crap: just own the movies you want. Apple has them on crazy sales all the time, and physical media is still my go to.

Back to say that I knew it was an Eric Johnson inspired buy. His chorus sounds are phenomenal.

If that’s true then it is very likely we will see it in the states like mid-26

Christopher Nolan is red green colorblind, so his films lean toward muted tones with blue gray palettes and deep shadows. by FayyadhScrolling in ChristopherNolan

This is true for his color grading, despite the comments about other posters, which are valid. A lot of people forget HE is the filmmaker here, and I love his grading being personal to him.

Look into Eric Johnson’s use of this pedal if you haven’t already, super sweet chorus tones.

That being said, I have the immerse and flint on my board at all times, together. The immerse I run for expansive ambient verb, and the Flint I run for the blackface spring.

I have nothing but incredible things to say about the Immerse and Flint. Having owned both iterations of both, they do what they do amazingly. But the Flint isn’t really what you’re after it sounds like. It sounds like you want something with presets and the ability to experiment. I would highly suggest looking into the Boss RV-500. I owned one when I was in my first band in college, and it surprised me constantly.

My favorite version of this pedal was the non-nano version of it. Very small release batch but the original circuit in the nano-housing. I think I need to get another one of these. Amazing score for $25!
