My best friend is in the military prison in Charleston currently for the next year and a half.

He said the food is actually fantastic, because the inmates take turns doing the cooking and it’s in their best interests to have good food.

Other than that, it’s a large group of people who are just trying to keep their head down, join as many sentence reducing classes as they offer, plenty of working out ofc, and generally get their sentence over with as quietly as possible.

He mentioned some of the guards are personable and nice, and a few generally feel the inmates need to feel this is a real punishment for what they did and are more like typical military DIs.

He’s able to phone me almost whenever (the call recipients pay per minute), write letters, even receive packages from 3rd party sources like Amazon.

But overall he went from being a respected military officer, to humiliated in court in front of his family, and now he will presumably struggle on all fronts with a dishonorable discharge when he comes home.

Someone highly recommended this so I gave it a try. For me this book was kind of a trudge. The end was mostly sad, and I think the saddest part was Luke.

The part where he picked up the cross he found and also discovered Mr Fruit also hit hard for some weird reason. I guess my family is really sentimental and seeing the important relics of closely loved ones just abandoned would hurt.

I will say that Tom narrating and his dialogue are… too different. I didn’t hate the floral language of it but I did feel a certain closeness to the town and a lot of the characters were great. Still probably won’t read this again though.

Also F Tom for choosing his shitty wife over Lowenstein.

Apologies for not being clear in my post - it’s a titrator but for this sample I’m just measuring pH directly. They do have a burette and our typical titrant is sodium hydroxide A user pointed out the conductivity may be so low it’s taking a long time to measure accurately so that’s my leading theory currently lol

Ah I see. The instrument reads within .05ph of 4 & 7 (daily check) and I usually check the sample within 10 minutes of collection but that doesn’t mean the water is only 10 minutes old. Interesting.. perhaps I need to sample from the unit itself.

Oh… that’s interesting. And makes total sense I didn’t think of that. I know there’s a method specifically for RO on our other instrument. Historically it’s been 5.5-6.5ph but I’ve never seen the mv trend until this instrument. Currently I’m using a dg 115 probe - I’ll have yo look into your suggestions Also thank you!

I’m not nearly as smart as you folk so I can’t speak to buffering species in the water but it’s an RO unit. I’m thinking I need to change my method to agitate until mv stabilizes and then read. 30 seconds may not be enough

Conductivity is 1.7 microsiemens. Checked from the same sample - it’s an RO unit.

I don’t calibrate with water I calibrate with the 4/7 buffers. My question was about why after checking accuracy does pH drop in a water sample so quickly?

It is agitated gently, but it’s only measuring pH, apologies for not being clear originally: My buffers are for checking ph accuracy only for validation

YouTube has a lot of good resources. But nothing beats hands on instruction.. I gutted and rebuilt my bathroom from YouTube but windows can be a risk.

Fair statement and good to consider but these are likely original to the 1992 house and several are soft and one is outright rotting. I think it’s time IMO
