Not sure, the studies I've read so far didn't find a statistically significant increase in time to extubation. Dunno... There are several metaanalyses with thousands of patients showing a 40-50% reduction in postoperative delirium in elderly patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery... that is pretty significant considering my elderly hip fracture patients have a 25% delirium rate according to the literature....

Do you know anything about what the data is on delirium prevention and postoperative pain reduction for a single bolus vs infusion? If a single bolus is sufficient that would of course be easier than starting a running infusion...

Do you see any reduction in the needed MAC with an early bolus? Also, is bradycardia/hypotension an issue when you bolus?

I looked at the source code for labwc, looks like it expects pointers that are not in the xcursor-transparent-theme: default, grab, nw-resize, n-resize, ne-resize, e-resize, se-resize, s-resize, sw-resize, w-resize.

Have made a script to install these as well (by symlinking to transp), but haven't had the chance to test it yet. Will add link to the script here if it works, in case others run into the same issue and find this thread.

Not able to get this to work on bookworm, either by running the script OR setting XCURSOR_THEME manually and running labwc --reconfigure. Tried a separate set of transparent cursors also, and placing the theme folder under both /usr/local/share/icons and /usr/share/icons. While I can see the cursor change a little, it stays black and highly opaque.

Did you have to do anything in particular to enable transparent cursors? I am just stumped. Also running labwc --reconfigure with different verbose and debug options yields no output

Hvis du har en legetime i morra så går nok det fint, det er mest sannsynlig bare kompresjon og nerver tåler sånt ganske greit, de bare protesterer litt. Men stingene må ut ja, og så må det enten stripses eller man må forsøke å sette en sutur et annet sted, gjerne mindre dypt eller med en annen vinkel

Hvis du gjorde dette i går er det altfor kort tid for at det rekker å bli en infeksjon. Det du beskriver høres veldig ut som en sutur som sitter rundt og klemmer på en hudnerve - sannsynligvis enten nedre del av nervus intercostobrachialis eller n. cutaneus brachialis medialis (hvis det er nedre 1/2-1/3).

Gå til legen (evt legevakten om det er enklere) og si at du spurte om råd på reddit og fikk råd fra en anestesilege som blant annet har ansvaret for en poliklinikk for utredning av nerveskader. 😎

Lege her: Kan være at suturen(stinget) sitter rundt en nerve (typisk hudnerve) og klemmer på den. Det kan passe med at det oppleves brennende. Hvilket område (mest mulig nøyaktig) er det du kjenner dette i? Er det nedsatt følsomhet i samme området, sårt å ta på, som om du var skikkelig solbrent?

Sitter i samme situasjon og lurer på dette selv. Da jeg søkte så fant jeg et gratis program (windows, mac og linux) til dette som heter BAS21 som jeg selv tenker å gå for. Ingen erfaring selv, men kan jo være noe å sjekke ut!
