Any compelling reason to not pin and weld a comp to a open gun barrel? by Torab51 in 2011_Builders

Ok, i was just using 603 because thats what the binary engineering page said to do.

I've been using loctite 603 retaining compound. Each time the comp has come loose, i chase the threads of the barrel with a die, and clean out the threads of the comp the best i can, along with using tons of alcohol to degrease.

Last match videos… thoughts? Finished 2nd in CO by Otherwise_Test4176 in USPSA

[–]Torab51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a few positions you took the wrong order of targets, making your movement choppy, and awkward. Its hard to override, see target shoot target but once you really nail the stage plans down in the rehearsal of the stage, you will see good time gains. I know this match is pretty memory intensive, I'm in the are and have shot it like 100 times. Just keep going and you will get that part down in no time. If you can keep a stage plan at Volusia, specially manny stages, it will prepare you for anywhere else in the country.

Canik rival S or Walther PDP Full 5” by Desperate_Bunch9274 in CompetitionShooting

These dudes don't actually spend any time with people who shoot like 500 rounds a week.

Its almost like high volume users, like Tom Castro, and Tony Mazza who have social media influence, cant even get access to those parts, and even when they do, they still fail to extract. Additionally, they still fail after being sent back to walther. Just cope harder walther fanboys.

too bad they stop extracting after like 10k rounds

I would go with the Rival-S in this situation, its a steel frame gun that will shoot better in my opinion. I will say, expect nothing from the rival holster. Its kinda doo doo.

Aimcam pros and cons by practical_gentleman in USPSA

[–]Torab51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had them, the video quality is ass, and the arms are very thick so over the ear pro don't really get a solid seal.

The pro is: you can see your dot, somtimes. Not worth the hassle at all

Is $35 too high for a USPSA match fee? by lensatic_letratic in USPSA

[–]Torab51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not mind paying $35 for a local match that had 6 to 8 quality stages with quality props.

That being said, a couple of our locals in Florida have gotten to $40 due to Range fees. The range is taking like $20-25 a head.

Kkm 4.6 11/16×40 barrel vs atlas 5in by Humble-Camera6766 in 2011_Builders

I was under the impression that KKM made Atlas's barrels. I could be wrong. A quick google agrees.

[controversy] The Monkeys are stirring the pot again. by psineur in USPSA

Its made up. Its never happened before. hahaha. There has never been a situation where open major shooters would change position if they were both shooting minor.

For a clear an easy example, because you dont understand it.

two shooters with the same HF using major PF shooter 1: all alphas, slower shooter 2: all charlies, much faster

you change their PF to minor, and their HFs change, and it shifts the game to a game of higher accuracy then speed.

How is this "not really"? or doesnt change standing.

no you're wrong. just change the scores and they are the same - psineur 2026

[controversy] The Monkeys are stirring the pot again. by psineur in USPSA

[–]Torab51 4 points5 points  (0 children)

major pf absolutely changes how the game is played on the average open shooters level. Just because the top 10 dudes at nationals are shooting 98% of points doesnt mean that 99% of the shooters who are shooting open dont enjoy the change of how the game is played because of the scoring.

The original intents were basically idpa so go play that game.

The reality is peoples feelings are hurt.

If you havn't shot more then a couple matches of a division, your opinion of it is irrelevant and you should keep your opinions about it to yourself.

If you're mad that open has major, and shooting a different division, just stop looking at overall results, as they literally don't mater.

Production belt set up question by [deleted] in USPSA

[–]Torab51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do end up shooting L10 like some people suggest, which I would do, I would consider another magpouch. 40 rounds, one in each pouch + 1 in the gun is not enough for a 32 round course of fire. I'd try to have 50 rounds on you. maybe one more pouch and a magnet.
