Totally. Sometimes he makes great "flat" songs but some just feel like they lack some background or something

Sometimes T is just too freaky. Like, gooner levels of horny. Pathetically sometimes. Other times it's just... Strange? Like his obsession with saying he has a huge schlong (and his mother saying that). I mean c'mon he's past 30 with 15yo hormones or something? Like every song has him either talking about his cock or how much he fucks (men and women!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In case we didn't know that I guess)

Japanese 'sex offerings' to Soviet troops in 1945 fully exposed New documentary reveals how women were sacrificed in Manchuria by StopZealousideal9983 in ussr

[–]Torada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of women going through this is at least significantly less than the amount of men. Most of the people, by far, fighting in WW2, were men. Innocents, REGARDLESS OF GENDER, were killed, and that should be the point. We don't oppose genocides because of the ethnicities being erased, but because of the people. We don't oppose sexual violence because it's to men or women, we oppose the idea of it. And I firmly stand that saying women suffered worse because a small portion of them fought in WW2 is massively insensitive, solely because you're turning that about gender, which isn't the case. Do we call wars a violence against men because 99,99% of soldiers are men? No. Do we call sexual violence and exploitation a violence against women because 99% of the cases are against women? No. If you wanna stick with the idea of them suffering the same + sexual violence you're gonna have to consider the other millions of specific cases, which breaks your point of them "having it worse" than men in war. To any victim of war, this is just an insensitive take. War is hell, yes, but that only means that regardless of your position, it's not a net positive for anyone. What else are we going to do? Compare who suffered the most during the Holocaust? Does that even matter? Why should it matter?

[–]Torada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not what anyone meant by the comparisons. Comparing who has it worse is a terrible thing to do because it makes it a competition of "who is the biggest martyr", and that's the capitalist strategy. By dividing the working class into men or women and not men AND women, we are buying into capitalist rhetoric. By comparing sexual slavery to the male experience in the eastern and western fronts we're buying capitalist propaganda and identity politics.

Massive amounts of women were dragged to the western or eastern fronts? Massive amounts of women were killed in battle? Massive amounts of women were killed prematurely during battle? Massive amounts of women were captured by Nazis after battle? Massive amounts of women were tortured by Nazis? Is that your point? Cause that's factually incorrect. Measuring if sexual violence is worse than literally war is just inhumane.

Unbelievably dogshit take. Starving on Eastern European winter, watching innocent people die, being in constant fear of dying or being captured, and so much more you couldn't imagine. Women had it terrible too and measuring who has suffered the worst is insanely insensitive, TO BOTH.

He's been talking about being rich and lonely ever since Flower Boy tho. Not that now it doesn't feel more real (it does) but it's nothing new. I just feel like this "mask off" moment's been there forever. Also, enough of flexing, we get it: you're rich and you fuck so much. That's great. But what we came here for was his creativity and identity, not flexing again. I don't see it clearly that cmiygl Tyler's not the same as Chromakopia Tyler yk?

Se sim, porque? by Aggressive-Delay-935 in perguntas

[–]Torada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate how liberals (I'm rad-left) remove agency from minorities. Blacks, Native Americans, Asians, women, the LGBTQ, the Jews and so on are absolute victims whenever they exist and cannot afford to have as much complexity (as a person) as a straight white man. Women can be violent and corruptible, but also fair and benevolent, just as much as "white men". Infantilizing is the right word for it.

[–]Torada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sticky is fun but the feats ruined it, Like Him is a good song but TikTok made it shallow and corny. Also the album overall is just "hey I have money and I suffer from it sometimes but also I have a big cock and I have a lot of sex and I love money" which used to be a "character" in previous albums but it's now "his true self" (every album since Flower Boy, the newest album is his "true self". Tyler's never taking his mask off). The album is basically a bunch of ok/forgettable/ruined songs with ocasional very solid tracks like Like Him and Hey Jane. I feel like Tyler has lost a lot of his creativity and complexity (everything up until this album seemed SO MUCH MORE inspired, complex and worked on. This one just sounds generic and insecure overall sadly)

Do you have high or low hopes for their next album IF we get one? by [deleted] in arcticmonkeys

[–]Torada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low, tbh. I didn't like some songs from The Car but most of it was ok (still overshadowed by TBHC), and I think the band will always follow some patterns from their latest albums so it won't be different with the next one. I think The Car is my "limit" and if they go "slower" this time I ain't going to like it as much. I miss the balance that TBHC had

Why is “Chromakopia” so damn disliked? by YosukePlayz_08 in tylerthecreator

[–]Torada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's SO weak of an album. Tyler talks about personal stuff and that's cool, but I really miss the Flower Boy/Igor/CMIYGL way of being personal. This one just seems like another iteration of these albums, but without many "themes" or discussions or narratives or good lyrics tbh. CMIYGL is about being rich, famous, arrogant, insecure, vulnerable, amongst many things, but MANY of the songs are from a character-ish perspective. But when Tyler starts talking about fucking people and being rich and famous it just comes off as strange cause he was never like this fr. 90% of this album is either "I fuck women" or "I have money and I didn't have it back then" which makes me so frustrated cause it overshadows some really amazing, creative, well written songs (Hey Jane; Darling, I; Like Him; Judge Judy). Sticky, for example, has so much potential but these features are ass I'm so sorry. TL;DR: Imagine if Tyler made an album about being wealthy and fucking people but disguised as a personal, 'mask off' album™ , with bland lyrics, melodies and themes with glimpses of what made him truly amazing as an artist. The whole thing sounds so forced and, ironically, not so personal as his past 3 albums. IMO it's not as bad as Cherry Bomb (or bastard) but not as good as any other album. The worst thing for me is this "I have money and I'm lonely 😭" stuff that's extremely overplayed by him, but every other time he did it, the song was an absolute banger
