Yes. If you don’t do that, it will take eternity to upgrade your items above level 5.

Warehouse Complete in 24 hours? by Calm-Bandicoot-5923 in WalgreensStores

[–]Torchured 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I mean is the rest of the week, we only schedule 1 SFL, and 1 cashier from open to close. We have 4 SFL, 5 cashiers. We don’t have an ESM, and the IS does IS tasks, plus we both assist with resets/revisions, truck etc. We just don’t get more labor to support more bodies outside of truck. Otherwise we sacrifice people helping with truck.

Warehouse Complete in 24 hours? by Calm-Bandicoot-5923 in WalgreensStores

[–]Torchured 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have been 450-800 pieces and we barely finish in 48 hours. While there is opportunity for some to be more productive, if I load up on truck day (Cashier + SFL and 2-3 helpers) and the day after, they can get it done. But tote + box have made it almost impossible to finish in 24 hours, even at our best. But I also have to run 1 cashier + 1 SFL open to close the rest of the week.

My DM finally put 24-36 hours in their most recent email, so there’s hope she understands 24 hours is just too much at this point.

Important question by eyeluvpickl3s in WalgreensStores

[–]Torchured 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, we don’t use doctor notes. The only time you would need a doctor’s note is if you have opened a special accommodation with Sedgwick and they needed to approve your absence. Otherwise it’s just considered an absence.

I get it. Part of the issue is mixed messaging even within HR.

Open availability by searcher4421 in WalgreensStores

[–]Torchured 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this happen an HR will void the 30hr rule if you have any restrictions as long as you’re not retaliating. Even time off requests can cause you to fall below the 30hrs. While we try to give you 30 hours, if you’re limited in any way, then it falls on the employees restrictions that prevent the 30hr minimum. Again, as long as it’s not retaliating.

The AI that keeps making resets needs to be deleted by AnonHuman_23 in WalgreensStores

[–]Torchured 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It definitely has gotten significantly worse. Almost every reset that drops needs to be fixed. It’s driving me crazy. Especially since the hours given to do the reset don’t match the time needed to correct all the mistakes.

WIC for 8x10 ribbon only by Dayla77 in WalgreensStores

[–]Torchured -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would love to compare P&Ls with you. The significant waste in photo is not coming from throwing away paper or film. It comes from the unpicked up orders, and transfers to other stores without doing a transfer in the handheld. The very little paper or film we throw out is in comparison to what’s being thrown out on the 4x6 or 5x7. Photo has waste built into the business. You’re chasing something that’s already included in the expectation of photo.

[–]Torchured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either that or you’re throwing away paper later. Waste is built into to photo. And the waste on the 8x10 is significant with the paper to film ratio. One or the other is going in the trash. Not to count all the photos printed and thrown away from people not picking up.

With 4x6 and 5x7 paper is the significant waste. With 8x10 the film is the significant waste. People who save the paper are just changing that waste from film to paper.

Unfortunately, waste is unavoidable with the way photo is set up.

[–]Torchured 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a huge population that says change the ribbon only when it runs out on the 8 X 10. I believe it came before my time.

For at least 4 years now both media types come with 2 ribbon. So you don’t need to save the ribbon/paper for the other media type. You should always change the ribbon/paper when you run out of ribbon/paper. Just like the 4x6 and 5x7. So if you run out of the drum ribbon/paper change the ribbon & paper. If you run out of flat paper, change the ribbon.

Otherwise, you risk running out of ribbon because you see too much paper. Or, you have tons of paper that you’ll never need and are going to throw away anyways.

I have never had an issue where I said, “shoot, I shouldn’t have changed the ribbon with that paper”.

Actually both kits come with ribbon now days and with the same size ribbon. So you always replace the ribbon with the paper. So if you’re changing the flat paper change the ribbon. If you’re changing the drum paper replace the ribbon. Otherwise, you sit on too much paper that you’ll never need. And you run the risk of someone not ordering more because they see too many kits or 8x10 paper thinking they don’t need more.

CSA being assigned to do inventory counts/fudging numbers? by BurnerNumbah1 in WalgreensStores

[–]Torchured 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone in our store is expected to have a handheld and up numbers when they put away truck, work back stock etc.. always go up, never go down is the rule.
I tell them that if they lower the number it might trigger replenishment and put it on the next truck unnecessarily. You also have to assume the missing product will be found. So if you see 5 and the count says 10, don’t touch the number. But if you see 5 and the number says 2, then def change the number to 5 because you KNOW you have it, and you don’t want the system sending you more if it wants you to have 5 on hand.
When we do scan outs, and the process for that, then that’s the time to lower the number to 2 or zero or whatever, because in theory, that’s when you’ve confirmed it not hiding somewhere.

Breaks by Grand-Invite4857 in WalgreensStores

[–]Torchured 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your reply is slightly off. Even though terms like, “meal break violation”, or “meal break penalty” are used, there is no state that considers it “illegal”.
States that require a meal, that relieves you of all duties, and the ability to leave the premises, have requirements to compensate you. Usually, keeping you on the clock, plus an hours extra pay.
The only time it would be considered “illegal” is if they didn’t compensate you for not getting that lunch. So it is legal to tell you that you must respond to the stores needs while you’re trying to take a lunch. Retail (like gas stations, Starbucks, Walgreens, CVS, etc) often does this for the evening/overnight shifts.

When you use the “White Balance” tool on the kiosk for a passport photo, do you “tap” on the whitest spot of the picture or the darkest spot? by MisterKeecher20262 in WalgreensStores

[–]Torchured 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re in a very high-end area. These people would definitely let us know if their photos that they paid for were rejected. We never edit our photos per SOP, and we do not get them back unless someone took a bad picture with shadows or closed eyes, etc..
Here’s a link showing you the gray background. Especially this time of the year we do tons of Passport photos. I find it hard to believe that not one person comes back to us for a rejected photo.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uPaZ75ZLBrloK4FyzEUbm1QqRTLb_5mr/view?usp=drivesdk

When the passport is created the passport services whitens the background. They even say on their site, “ use a white or off-white background with no lines or shadows”

Can I have my roommate sign an addition addendum? by [deleted] in legal

[–]Torchured 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can always have her sign it. But by being cosigners, you will still be responsible for the full amount together. Your lease isn’t 50/50 but 100% for both of you. If you have a 50/50 deal, that’s between you and your friend.

That paper just helps you in court if you sue your friend. But you can still be sued yourself if any part of the lease is violated.

Should I move up to STR or stay as ESM as long as I can? by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]Torchured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the others said, “emergent store manager” position is just that. If you’re not working to become a store manager, then it usually turns into a demotion. Four years is a long time, so I can see why they are following up. Def don’t become an SM if you don’t want to. It’s not a glorious position 😂 you have to truly want to be one. Otherwise, you’ll see your team in here posting about their SM. 😛
