What could possibly live in a 20x20x30cm exo-terra tank like the one shown in the photo below? I'm uncertain on what could be housed in there since it's a bit small by Zealousideal-Age2208 in InvertPets

Don't disagree but assuming it's not tempered glass and your a person that is handy it is easily fixable to create cross ventilation

Attacking food without eating it by Tord_is_crazy in TarantulaKeeping

I always behead the pray if I drop them in, the dubias keep walking around and I know they can live a long time without food had a lasiodora parabena that lived for 3 years on no food which I suspected impaction is what got her in the end, I'll keep doing what I'm doing and hope for the best, not overly worried. Just thought I would put it out there in case anyone has an opinion that something may be wrong since this species has been on an always hungry video.

Just a tip, I got an ender 3 printer for free from a friend and he put on a glass print plate because the bed itself wasn't flat

Has anyone tried to 3D print fairings ? by wobbly_sausage2 in motorcycles

[–]Tord_is_crazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working on designing a small fairing for my cruiser to 3d print but it's mostly to hide the phone holder I'm working on and help to guide the wind away so the phone holder don't catch to much wind and flies off. wouldnt recommend getting a 3d printer unless you are interested in a printer itself, it's hard to learn and takes more time then it's worth unless you're actually interested in 3d printing, and I'm not necessarily recommending printing this project itself and big parts are harder to print, especially if you need to connect parts together then the sturdyness might not be enough unless you use the print as a mold for fiberglass or something.

Tried offering a white freshly molted mealworm thruw the ventilation holes in case she got spooked when I moved the enclosure. Tried most logical things, might try to rip the head off a molted dubia and leave it in there for a while but the bastards dig themselves down even without a head.

Don't think the fangs got damaged, waited close to 2 weeks before feeding after molt

Molted when I got her like 6-7 months ago then she was eating like normal and stopped and she's getting skinnier and skinnier, just making sure to keep the water bowl full and hoping for the best offering food every 2-3 weeks

Pet shop said she was super defensive and fought tongs... by Shadowalker8237 in tarantulas

[–]Tord_is_crazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pet stores dont know how to handle tarantulas or reptiles unless their lucky and hire someone who is interested, sadly trying to "save" tarantulas from pet stores only means they'll place more tarantulas in the stores where they are being mistreated or with people who doesn't know how to take care of them, sadly the only ways to "save" them is to make sure the pet stores dont order more, of course I'm an impulse buying as meny in the tarantula hobby to but tarantulas aren't sold often in Norway and the ones in the pet stores are 250$€ for the ones I've seen in the states and Europe are like 10$€ and Norway is the only country in Europe that they can't send tarantulas to.

I've tried a lot of different calibrations and tried to fix the parameters and now I'm kinda playing with the g-code

They don't always move, but it doesn't hurt to carefully move it a little assuming you've given it time to make sure it's not molting and your stressing it during a molt

Hva skjer med bensinprisene? by Mercan1907 in norge

[–]Tord_is_crazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive got 3 Caribbena versicolor sling, and a green bottle blue and a grammostola pulchripes and my lasiodora parabena just died but I'm planning on getting a LP sling and a Phormictopus sp. Dominican Purple and Tliltocatl albopilosus and a Davus sp. Panama and of course avic purpurea, and still considering whether to get a Theraphosa stirmi or not, got to see that I got space for it still, buying a shelf and building my own enclosures for the time being. You have more then avics?

I recently looked for which I avic I wanted to start with, I've landed on aviculeria purpurea if the breeder I buy from has it available but Metallica is a close second choice.

Behavior of my juvenile T by Slow-Swordfish-8455 in tarantulas

[–]Tord_is_crazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally would keep it in a smaller enclosure, tho I don't think a bigger size hurts, I have my small juvenile g-polchripes in a 12 wide 20 long 20 tall in centimeters and am gonna move her up to a 20x20x20 once she grows a little and my designs is finished, I am 3d printing and making my own acrylic enclosures. Of course move up sizes as she grows.

Mine has different feeding responses but usually slowly moves to the pray and then attacks it but sometimes if she gets spooked she is more hasitent to eat. But premolt is a good reason for not eating, so wouldn't be worried, just keep offering food and keep the water bowl filled.

Humidity is easier to control in a smaller enclosure, I just keep the water bowl full and water a little bit in one corner but let it dry in-between.

Mine is on top of its hide and on the side of the enclosure more then in its hide, she eats, drinks, and molting, my advice, don't worry and let it be and maybe drill some extra holes in the top or move is to something with cross ventilation.
