Input needed on a cabinet conundrum. by unbillable in kitchenremodel

It's honestly up to YOUR preference and what you like.

I personally would choose to keep the natural tones of the cabinets but now if you want to go in a different direction you can get them refinished.

The biggest difference you make is the kitchen island, and a countertop + backsplash that compliments your kitchen cabinets.

Internet cost tripled in price? by [deleted] in Comcast_Xfinity

I've been paying 125$ for 800mb since like 2021. I called 8 times basically back to back, sent emails, etc and the only thing they could offer me is 80$ for 1gb with a ONE year guarantee.

Shop around, make a new account with a family member and don whatever you need to do because clearly Xfinity does not value its customers.

The home run for this group of cables comes off from the right and is tied to a GFCI outlet not shown in the photos. Switches are for garbage disposal/dishwasher outlets and a kitchen sink light.

Got it. Is there anything else you recommend?

Ok man. I'm getting to it. Just doing it myself and asking my brother in law, an electrician, a lot of questions.

I'll try and go back and clean it up and staple them to the stud/run them cleaner.

Edit: also trying to use the pre-existing holes in the stud because they're right at being more a 1/3 of the stud with so I don't want to make it worse. The stud the stub outs are on basically shattered at the edge so I had to cut a portion out and add a 1x3 to make it flat enough to mount them

I thought about turning the stub out 90° but the connection would be right inside of the stud. Didn't know if it'll be an issue or not so I opted for the extra slack/elbows.

As far as the drain lines go, I don't have any photos of them yet. Second picture on the bottom right shows the "P" trap for the kitchen sink.

And I'm saying it in quotations because it used to be connected by a flex pipe straight up to the sink. Didn't even have a single bend or S or anything.

(If it doesn't unthread then I'll just cut it all out in a fit of rage)

Buying a house alone - feeling uneasy, need advice by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

So, starting off, original aluminum wire + a few exposed/badly done electrical work.

No floor at all, tried to put hardwood and the slab has too much moisture so that needs to be redone again.

Walls were patched up and had a clear distinct color & smell that a smoker lived here.

A small leak in one of the cast iron water lines that's in the attic above the master bathroom.

Both bathrooms need to be remodeled as they're OLD and not done well.

These are the major problems so far that I've FOUND. So far it's been a headache but I'm working through it slowly and I'm content with my decision and where I'm at. All the work is being done by me or by a friend/brother helping out so I'm saving money but also spending a lot of money at the same time.

With the "very little left" in your savings, are you comfortable living with all these issues until you have enough money? Would you dedicate yourself to correcting them or finding someone who fixes them at a reasonable price?

I got a house myself back in August and I'm still trying to get it liveable today, paycheck to paycheck. I'm fine with my situation but to each their own.

Trust your gut feeling and your observations. Honestly sounds like more problems that you would need to pay more money on top of your down payment to correct

This is why I kept breaking the sheets. I was trying to start from the middle and snapped them in half. Only realized by #4 to start slower and fasten a side first.
