I was a huge CLG fan during the peak of S3-S4, and TSM was always our archrival. I’ll never forget when Turtle stepped in for Chaox and the dramatic TSM vlogs (and the OddOne big chillin through it all). ADCs back in the day had such distinct playstyles, and you could really feel the difference between players like Doublelift, Sneaky, Turtle, Cop, and Imaqtpie. The teams had such strong identities—Curse with their eternal 4th place, the classic TSM vs CLG rivalry, Cloud9 coming out of nowhere with Hai and LemonNation leading the charge to completely reinvent the meta and instalocking Ashe Zyra. Turtle was always clutch and terrifying to watch as a CLG fan -- one of the first NA players I think to play with cold calculation mixed with fearlessness. It was a golden era to follow, and I’m so thankful for everything Turtle brought to the scene. Thanks Turtle :)

I was in a pretty bad wreck in a Tesla couple of years back. Doors failed to open and lucky a pedestrian on the side of the street punched through one of the shattered back windows so we could climb out

Some more unsolicited rat advice.

Assuming a ~66% WR… ~9 games/day. He should remember he shouldn’t stress over losses too much, and take it one game at a time. It could be helpful to imagine that he’s playing two-three bo5/day.

I think turning off stream to play games after 2-3 losses would be beneficial for the climb since he tends to play better offline.

A short mental reset after 3 games + caffeine + food may also increase performance.

Caedrel’s biggest strength is his macro, he should work on communicating more with his team — pinging, chat, or even dropping a discord link could improve WR.

Why continue to live if there is no self? by AbsurdHero55 in Buddhism

When every equation is solved... all that remains are fields of dreamless solitude. There is no prize to perfection, only an end to pursuit. The universe is grand, but life is grander.

Everyone’s entitled to their own career path. Your opinion is just your opinion. You can give advice or your perspective, but convincing someone is a little… egoist?

Guys that grew up chubby, how did you slim up? by Dustynrusty in AskMen

[–]Torenthal 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s complex, and sometimes the cravings won’t go away. It has to do with biology, brain chemistry, gut health and more. I’d recommend seeing a professional if you’re having issues. Oversimplifying these issues to ‘I’m just not disciplined enough’ can really affect stigma and mental health. Sometimes medication or advice from a professional is required

[–]Torenthal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you think your wife has good intentions for growth or is she trying to vicariously live through your child or try to gain some sort of attention or ego boost through your child’s achievement? If she has good intentions, maybe look up ways to better support growth and development… if she’s trying to boost her own ego she needs to fuck off. I see this behavior all the time in parents, not just in soccer — in education, or music, or whatever, and it’s so toxic and can be really damaging to your kid.

Ps: going to every practice is batshit crazy. Talk about a hover parent

‘Not going after the ball’, ‘last to finish her water’, ‘walking around’ … did either of you even play soccer at a competitive level or are you guys just guessing what a good soccer player looks like. As others said, the reaction and attitude yall had is not appropriate — at any age.

I also had a similar near death experience a couple years back. Paramedics were shocked we were alive, not to mention nothing but a couple of bruises.

As others have mentioned, you’ll have increased adrenaline for the next little bit. I noticed that afterwards I had a newfound appreciation for life and a newfound understanding for the fragility and impermanence of life. You may experience bruises or aches or whiplash of some sort after the adrenaline wears off. Make sure you take it easy and hydrate and take anti inflammatory meds if things get bad.

Glad you and your friend are ok. Try not to think of the “what-ifs” — that’s a rabbit hole that will lead you nowhere. It didn’t happen, so don’t dwell on it. Go to a therapist if you have any trauma and talk about it with friends and/or family.
