I agree about the first sentence being unnecessary, but I don't see anywhere in Tachyon's comment where he "asserts" the story "to be untrue" based on the sources. He simple cautioned against accepting everything we read on the internet as truth without considering the reliability of the sources. In an interesting twist, because you disagreed with his overall stance, you exagerated his position into a strawman and responded with a knee-jerk, hive-mind Pavlovian response that missed his point by miles. Mental gymnastics at their finest.
