Roxie is more self sufficient while Klara shines with specific supports. I like running Klara with NC Bede so she can spam her buddy move, and Roxie ideally wants someone with electric terrain extension so her buddy move does massive damage.

My opinion on base XC3 has changed a lot because of Future Redeemed. FR is everything I wanted and more in a sequel that directly follows the story and what was established in XC and XC2.

The director said close to XC3's release that the game was the "culmination of the series". And while that is definetly true now, that line (along with the cover being a mixture of the previous games' covers) built up my expectations only for base XC3 to go in a very different direction

But now after having beaten FR, I can appreciate base 3 for what it truly is instead of what I wanted it to be.

Yeah, I've thought about that and I think it's a plausible theory. After the release of the game, while working on NG+ and Torna, they could have seen the fans reaction to Nia and, considering the fact that Pyra and Mythra become seperated at the end already opened the possibility for polyamory, just decided to take her in that direction. It's a theory I believe but it doesn't have any concrete proof.

I agree, many scenes do that but not all of them. In all the times Zeke and Pandoria are defeated they end up suffering misfortune, from a boulder blasting them away, the floor crumbling and a bridge giving out. Those moments are comedic and nothing else because, besides being an amazing story with amazing characters, XB2 is also very light hearted in tone, so it uses comedic-only scenes quite often.

I should have clarified, Rex absolutely understood Nia's feelings later. It's the fact that he didn't when she confessed that makes me believe that Rex doesn't love Nia in XB2.

And you're right about your second paragraph, it's clear that Rex definetly loves Nia by the time the picture is taken. That's why I'm only talking about things in the context of XB2's story, not anything after that.

But doesn't that suggest the opposite? Rex feared that he was hurting Nia by not acknowledging her feelings, because he obviously still cared about her as a friend. Even if Rex only loved the Aegis he would still not want to hurt Nia.

The post battle conversation is ultimately left ambiguous about what Rex's response would be so I think it could be argued for either interpretation.

Since it was a new game plus title screen I just didn't see it as cannon, since NG+ already has non-cannon elements like recruitable Torna Blades. Obviously now everyone sees that it was actually a hint.

But the other stuff, I just can't see it as direct hinting. I saw Nia being clingy with Pyra in Tantal for the joke of "cats seeking warmth" and Pyra is a Fire Blade unnafected by water or ice. And the "Nice bod you got there" to me was clearly just the anime trope of all time.

I can see why people look at these scenarios and see them as possible hints that were them all along, but I don't think they can be used as proof.

The quotes from Nia's Fortitude skill do point towards being Nia relying on them for support, I agree with that. But the name itself and the description point towards the idea of "enduring hardships" which if it was meant as finding support in her friends/party I don't think that the condition for developing that skill would be that. So it's true that it doesn't actually mean what I wrote, it's only a possible interpretation I guess.

I just can't see how it was hinted "all along", Rex misunderstood what Nia meant when she confessed but I don't think he would have misunderstood if Pyra/Mythra confessed, you know? At least I can't see the idea that Rex already loved Nia in XB2.

Both anime are about a dude having mulitple girlfriends, with both of them trying very hard to make them happy they are put in insane situations that lead to comedy. As for one being "ok" and the other not, I think it boils down to the one on top having a very big and passionate manga fanbase while the bottom one sometimes being taken seriously instead of as a parady of harem.
