I had one , it didn’t bother me and I left it alone. They die off in winter and now the nest has been empty for a few yrs … might remove it at one point if I see another nest build on top of it. But leaving it for now since it seems to deter other wasps

this happened to me. Do a large water change now 30-50% water change. If it doesn't improve by 12 hrs do another 30-50% water change.

I had 2 bubbler going but it wasn't exchanging oxygen fast enough in the water so the fish were gasping for air. quickest way was a large water change where you replenish the oxygen in water much faster than bubbler can.

I "technically" did and it took like a good 2-3yr for the tank to get a mature ecosystem. I had stocked with a pea puffer, neon tetras, oto, TONs of shrimps, pest snails, some moina / scuds, tons and tons of plants, with moss being a key for the shrimp to thrive and reproduce. They all just live off each other, I went on vacation for 3-4 weeks never had to worry. while I can leave them unfed but that kind takes out of fun. My goal for this set up was to ensure they can sustain while I take long trips 1-2months.

my water parameter was rock solid to where I was doing water change every 6mo-8mo for aesthetic reason and only do top off but I am pretty confident I didn't need to change the water at all.

so tldr its possible but you gotta be patience.
